About the Business

A platform, referred to here as GameBox, was designed to enable users to store games, game saves, and gaming profile data securely in the cloud. This service caters to PC games, certain console game saves, and general digital files including documents, videos, and music. In addition to storage, the platform offers access to free and purchasable games, as well as the latest trailers and media content. It supports PlayStation, Nintendo, and some Xbox game saves. GameBox uses robust cloud technology, facilitated by Adobe Air software and Amazon Cloud Server, to offer reliable and flexible online gaming storage with a 24-hour access. It combines features of an online game store and storage service, enabling content mobility. Despite having over 60 members with free accounts, the potential for site enhancements and monetization (through ads or additional features) remains largely untapped. Initially developed between March 2010 and February 2011 on a Django framework with a MySQL database, GameBox never transitioned fully out of beta, and its revenue potential has yet to be realized. The creators, shifting focus to new projects, decided to sell the platform, offering project notes and transitional support to the buyer. They underscore the necessity of receiving payment prior to transfer and are willing to assist with domain migration. While infrastructure agreements such as hosting, Amazon storage, and security certificates are currently upheld, opportunities for monetization through advertisement insertions and updating payment gateways exist. The offering includes trial access credentials, but warns users against loading important data onto the demo account.
