Description

FlowersBlog.co.uk is on sale. It's a WordPress-powered blog, fully customized and nicely designed. Google AdSense ads are prominent on place, although they don't generate much income at present.

The reasoning behind selling the site is that I want to focus on other things.

What's on sale:

  • Domain name
  • Design
  • Completely customized WordPress all with the plugins (i.e. spam protection, ShareThis for sharing among social networking sites...)
  • 320 ORIGINAL articles

Potential for monetization

UK flower market is very segmented. There are online retailers which sell dozen roses for 13 GBP with free delivery, while some others in the mid-to-high end of the market sell the same bouquet for 50 GBP. In that sense, they have problems advertising on Google and other pay-per-click services as their ads are constantly being neglected by the system, which can't see this differentiation of the product classes, and are pushed under for low click-throughs. And these mid-to-high end merchants are ideal for advertising on FlowersBlog.co.uk as brand advertisers.
On the other hand, buyer could also monetize the site by selling text links.

Great for online flower shops

Just think about search engines. You could integrate all this content into your website and make it more appealing to Google, Yahoo and others! Or you could keep it as a separate website and make it link back to your online store. There's an idea. ;)

Pricing

I'm aware there's no traffic on the site and I can't and don't want to sell it on that basis. I do however, want to sell all the work that was involved in the design of the site and content creation. That said, I want to sell the site on the per-post basis, whereas the price of the WordPress customization and design is included in the price.

Revenue Details

At the moment the site doesn't make much money, but as I said in the description - the potential is there.

Traffic Details

Most of the traffic comes from search engines.

Not sure I understand, are these articles written by you, or have you copy+pasted them and then cited sources?

It's a blog. I do have source for many articles - but they are NOT copy/paste. Just: I found a story on some site, wrote about it in my own words and added "via" link. So it's ORIGINAL content!!!

And the "via" link is the site where I spot the news or the article, or from where I got an idea to write about it.

Stats are far from impressive. That's why I decided to sell it on the content basis. And for all the work that's done in customizing the WordPress.

You list the revenue at $50/month. Where is that coming from?

It's coming from AdSense. And it's even less than that. Someone (who buys the site) should contact online florists for advertising or sell text link ads, which I don't at the moment - too busy doing other things.
