Description

With the economy in decline, low-cost, high battery life netbooks are the new hotness.   9 out of the 10 best selling items in Amazon's Computers & PC Hardware category in the US (which includes non-system items, like monitors) are netbooks.  Acer and AsusTek, which together currently contol about 90% of the world market for netbooks, shipped 5 million units in 2008, and that number is expected to rise next year.  Almost every major PC maker, including HP, Dell, Sony, and Lenovo, now have netbooks or netbook-sized laptops, and Apple has recently been rumored to be working on a small form factor notebook computer of their own.

In otherwords, this is a hot market to be in and a great space to be blogging.

Netbook Lounge started in November of last year.  Initially it was a forum (begun a few months earlier), but was converted to a blog-only format in November.  Unfortunately, due to a new job, I never had the proper time to put into promoting it and finding niche advertisers -- I did have on inquiry about advertising from a company that makes netbook cases, but I never followed up.

Now, because I am working on a launching a web app, I just can't afford to put money into this project, especially given that I don't have the time to put into monetizing the property.

Netbook Lounge has one blogger who is paid $200/month for 12-15 posts per week.  He's very good, and keeps the site up-to-date with all the latest news, but it would be up to the new owner whether or not to keep him on (and up to you to negotiate a deal with him).

What you're buying with Netbook Lounge is really the domain, and the content.  It has 246 posts, and gets a fair amount of Google traffic from that content.

With a sufficient bit of promotion, it could easily become an authority in what is a relatively unsaturated niche, and one that is growing like a weed.

Revenue Details

This site was never properly promoted, and I never sought niche advertisers.  We put AdSense on the site, but it never targeted well and only made a few dollars... $4.58 in the month of Februrary, for example, and $0.95 so far in March.

Traffic Details

At its peak, Netbook Lounge was doing more than double the traffic that it is today.  Unfortunately, as I said, I just haven't had the time to put into promoting it at all.

Traffic is 72% from search engines, ~16% direct, and ~12% referral. Is is 42% US, 15% UK, 3.5% Canadian, 3.5% Indian, 3% German, 2.5 % Australian.

All PMs replied too. Referrer screenshot added as requested.

    I'll verify tonight.

Sorry for not replying sooner ... I completely forgot to check my PMs and forgot that I don't have email notifications set up anymore. Apologies for that.
