Description

A new President steps onto stage for the first time; a NASA robot discovers water on the Moon; a ferry worker watches, awestruck, as a 747 skims like a stone along the Hudson River. Who do they tell first? Everybody. Via Twitter.

Documenting life's events in tiny messages - called "tweets" - is a dramatic shift in human communication. EpicTweet.com is a service that sifts through the millions of micro-messages published daily online, presenting only the larger-than-life moments - known as Epic Tweets.

EpicTweet's ingestion engine and backend algorithm works to publish only significant moments, and it is complemented by a human-assisted filter on the home page: Tweets are assessed for "Epic-ness" via a voting mechanism by visitors to the site's homepage.

The site is low maintenance and can be monetized or integrated into a news/media site.

EpicTweet.com is too new to have a pagerank, but all previous StartupCamp sites have come in at PR4.

The auction includes:

- Domainname http://www.epictweet.com/ (Domain tranfer fee not included, payable by buyer)
- All source-code
- All content

Be aware that the site might be developed further during the auction.

More information about the project can be found here: http://www.startup-australia.org/startup:epictweet

hi duwayne, i'll get you an answer on the cost to transfer the domain. If you buy the site, you would need to host it on your own server, it is written in .NET.

Hi Guys, sorry about the delay. I don't think there are any domain transfer fees. The domain is registered with GoDaddy. I think you can transfer between Godaddy accounts for free (well.. maybe just the standard registration fee. not 100% sure).

SOME MORE IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE SITE:

    - the ingestion engine is not currently running as a service. I have been manually running the ingestor for the time being. The intention was to rebuild the ingestion engine to make it much more sophisticated, then set it up properly as an automated service. For now, it's just menual and only imports based on keywords with weightings, and the #epictweet hashtag.
