Description

Hey guys. You are probably wondering why I am selling this site - I am currently in my 4th year of university and have been quite busy with school, which does not really allow me to spend the time necessary to work/improve the site. Also, due to the current economic situation, ad rates have dropped 35-40%, and I do not have the funds to continue supporting the site. I also listed an ad for FileSend here on Oct. 10 and ended up with a fake winning bid, so that's why I am relisting.

I currently own 6 servers (each consisting of 8x750 GB hard drives in RAID-10, costing near 20k) and colo in the PacificRack datacenter in LA. We currently have a 1Gbps line with them, and push roughly 90% of that; however, this usage can be reduced tremendously due to the high usage from Middle Eastern users (who are currently exploiting my scripts) with low revenue returns. At the moment, I am working with a programmer in securing my scripts, and can see as much as a 40-50% reduction in bandwidth usage. We are paying $6500 total ($500 for a full cabinet of colo space and $6000 for the 1Gbps).

I am looking for a quick sale at a good price for both the buyer and myself; however, I am looking for someone who is interested and capable of fully supporting FileSend (adding servers/bandwidth, hiring programmers, etc) as I do not want to see my work go to waste.

Revenue Details

FileSend currently makes revenue from two sources: subscriptions and ads. Currently, ads account for most of the revenue made, but subscriptions increase as traffic increase. In September, FileSend made $10,402.73 from AdBrite, $2,130.07 from Tribal Fusion, and $2,148.97 from ValueClick Media. However, the current financial crisis has our advertising revenue reduced 35-40% beginning in the month of December until now. This has caused us to operate at a loss/breakeven for the past couple of months, and I simply do not have the funds to invest until things turn around. I will provide more info to potential buyers upon request.

Traffic Details

Most traffic to this site is from referrals - people uploading files and sending to others through email, or posting them on the web. I will provide access to Google Analytics upon request.

Yes, I posted FileSend for sale in early October but ended with a fake winning bid, hence this re-post. I will be providing access to our Google Analytics to all that are interested.

Thanks for the suggestion playswfgames - I have gone ahead and done that.

Hi, what does this mean "the high usage from Middle Eastern users (who are currently exploiting my scripts) with low revenue returns"? How much work is required to deal with this issue?

Ttec: I have found another programmer who is currently recoding my download script to generate temporary download links, which should remedy that problem. He should have something for me in 48-72 hours. Bandwidth usage should go down drastically after the change, we will just need to see how much.

Please PM me regarding advertising. I have sent you an email (at the address you specified) but no answer so far. Also, would you be willing to sell the site at a 'montly payment' option. I represent a company able to guarantee payment.

Studying the traffic into detail I can notice most of the valuable traffic is coming from a referral site "coolrom.com" As I can tell coolrom.com isn't included in the sale tho you own coolrom.com as well.

You could simply change referral addresses off your other website and create a new file sharing website after you sold filesend.net

Without coolrom.com's referral traffic to filesend.net it would have no valuable traffic. All the other traffic besides coolrom's referrals comes from the middle east
