Established in February of 2006, Hip Hop Lead has continued to grow every year making great strides in the hip hop community.
I recently purchased the site with hopes to take it to the next level. Sadly I just do not have the time to keep up with everyday tasks that will help it continue to grow.
Buyer Gets
Upon purchase buyer gets everything
Hip Hop Lead uses Wordpress blogging software with a custom Revolution Church premium theme, completely redesigned for the site. We also use two premium plugins. Viva Thumbs (automatic thumbnail cropping tool) and Viva Carousel ( The image carousel you see at the top).
Hip Hop Lead's Myspace page is a customized band page that also receives a heavy amount of traffic. It receives a lot of requests from industry artists and producers looking to do interviews, etc. See for yourself (myspace.com/hiphoplead)
Traffic
Hip Hop Lead is currently receiving around 1,000 visitors a day. We are currently ranked high in Compete (http://siteanalytics.compete.com/HIPHOPLEAD.COM/?metric=uv) and Quantcast (http://www.quantcast.com/hiphoplead.com). I just recently quantified the site with Quantcast so the month's estimates are not complete yet.
All of our traffic is either from Google, word of mouth or links from other similar sites.
We have a PR 3 on Google but it seems like it should be higher. Do a search for yourself:
hip hop audios
r&b exclusives (#1 result)
We are right there with hiphopdx.com and allhiphop.com
Revenue
I'll be honest I only just started to see what kind of revenue this site can get. I spent most of the time redesigning and getting the site up to speed that I monetized it last. Currently I use Google Adsense, just set up affiliate marketing with cj.com and have affiliation with Global Grind (globalgrind.com). I see no reason why Global Grind wouldn't let the next owner take over with an easy transition. As for the potential earnings well you do the math. Considering the traffic levels and the potential I see no reason why you couldn't make between $100-400 a month.
Bidding
I set the minimum bid at a $1000 because of the amount I paid for it and was hoping to make most of that back. Remember Hip Hop Lead is one of the leaders in the hip hop game so you are also paying for a brand.

To all who are interested as requested by a fellow member I have installed http://whos.amung.us on the footer of the site for real time stats. I'm not sure how accurate it is but so far it seems fairly close.
