Heh. Two seconds after putting this auction up I get an email saying the last banner ad was sold. So you can add $30 to the revenue for the month. :)

Description
This is a relist under Premium Sites For Sale as I feel the blog belongs here. Unfortunately, due to commitments offline (I am a student) this blog is going on sale... it's one I started more than a year ago and have had many pleasant experiences through.
Up for auction today is my entrepreneur blog, The University Kid.
It can be accessed at http://www.theuniversitykid.com
Why I'm Selling
A few things have come up - I'm at university, so will have exams for the next month (and thus will be unable to do much online); I will then be off for near the whole of January on vacation, with the next term staring soon after.
I would prefer that this blog be sold on to someone that can pick it up and dominate this niche... something I planned on doing. This blog could easily be taken to 'A-List' status with the right amount of promotion - unfortunately I do not have the time to do this.
Details of the blog
At the moment, here are some statistics:
1,150 RSS subscribers (that read the blog whenever it is updated, through a feed reader or email).
20,000+ backlinks. You can check this through:

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Ftheuniversitykid.com&y=Explore+URL&fr=sfp
(with and without www)
5,000 visits and over 11,000 pageviews directly to the blog last month.
Around $500 - $1,000 in revenue monthly directly.
372 unique posts written by either me or guest posters.
Over 7,100 comments on posts.
Alexa ranking of 67,000
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/theuniversitykid.com
Technorati rating of 12,000
Google Pagerank 4.
This blog is more than just a blog... it's a brand, a community, a place to network, a place to share ideas and a place to make money.
I started it in October 2007, which was around the time that I first started looking at how to make money online - it was basically a journal, a competition between friends to see who could do best. The competition ended, but the blog continued to thrive.
What The Site Needs
At the moment, the blog is at a comfortable level... 1,100 subscribers, a post goes out every 3-4 days and it gets a comfortable 15 - 30 comments on each post.
For the last few months, I've done no promotional work on the blog whatsoever - all I have done is write posts. This is mainly because I've been busy with university.
The domain is brandable, so that you can take it in any direction you wish - internet marketing, entrepreneurship or even make money online.
What I was looking at was a refocus into a make money online blog, as the advice TUK provides is seen as some of the best on the Internet.
There are thousands if not MILLIONS of teenagers looking to make money online - you could develop this blog into one that taught them how and of course it would be pretty easy to monetize this. The best thing? You don't even have to be a university student to run this site. :)
The blog has been mentioned on numerous other websites (most of the 20,000 links, I've done zilch work to attain), in posts, due to contests or just good content. For example, it's the eighth blog out of around 300 on 45n5's top blogs list. :)
http://www.digitalproductreporter.com/make_money_online/
It is setup on a customized version of a premium theme (no longer available for purchase) however I was going to do a 2.0 launch and have had a new custom theme developed which you can use if you wish. It has a high quality, custom header, will come with the rights to everything I've personally given away on the blog - the Wordpress themes, a few free products, all blog posts of course.
At the moment there are 372 posts each around 500 - 1,000 words each - if you take an average of $10 per post (it would normally cost a lot more than that for high quality blogging) that's $3,720 right there and that's not even including traffic, backlinks, the custom mascot et cetera.
This is a high quality blog which has helped numerous people over the time it has been up - be it those starting out or those looking to achieve more than they were already doing.
This is an amazing platform to launch projects off - I consider those that read the blog personal friends and they're some of the most supportive around.
I've launched other blogs, a blogging forum with 10,000+ posts (see below) and various other projects off it that have generated me thousands of dollars in revenue.
IF The Blog Is Bought At BIN Price
If the blog is bought at BIN price, I will add the blogging forum currently at www.blogpremiere.com/forum to the sale.
I started Blog Premiere with an idea in mind for it to be the first ever print blogging magazine - that didn't happen, but the forum grew, and pretty rapidly at that.
I haven't promoted it in a while, but at the moment it has 10,000+ unique posts, and is setup on a custom vBulletin design. It will come with the vBulletin owned license if it can be transferred and also 50+ tshirts I paid to have created to market the forum if you want them.
The blogging forum niche is grossly undersaturated - it would be an easy project to get back off the ground and monetize again.
I would be willing to help the buyer after the sale via instant messenger with regards to how s/he can promote it, as well as post every so often on the blog if you wanted it.
If you need bloggers to write for the site, I can point you at a few that have offered for a reasonable amount.
If the blog does not reach my reserve, I will hold onto it, promote it in the New Year and flip it on Sitepoint for double the BIN price. This is a decent opportunity for someone with drive to come in and do what I would have done. :)
You can contact me via Sitepoint private message or through the below channels:
MSN Messenger: JPereira.Owns@gmail.com
Yahoo Messenger: jasonpereira34
Email: admin@theuniversitykid.com
If you have any questions, feel free to ask - screenshots of traffic are included on the right, and I'm verifying the blog right now. Payment would be through Escrow.com (buyer pays fees) or Paypal.
Revenue Details
The blog earns around $500 - $1,000 directly per month, although it has earned me a lot more than that directly - having a blog in this niche means that people are constantly contacting me to try out products, do joint ventures, work on a consultation basis and even freelance for them.
The revenue figure *could* be doubled, or increased even more than that if a little work was put in. I do not promote stuff on the blog actively - to be honest, I sell enough stuff to people on other sites, and have tried to make this a relatively non-ad zone to check out.
Revenue last month was (CONSTANT):
Referral to Hostgator (paid through Paypal) - $100
http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/8398/hostgatoryh2.jpg
Two paid reviews (StoreStacker and T3Leads) - $200
Eight 125 x 125 ad slots (currently up - all ads are paid except the Dat Money one) - $240
One 468 x 60 ad slot (currently up - the MarketLeverage ad) - $60
Total: $600
The above figures will be constant, ie they tend to happen month after month. Again, this is with little to no promotion on my part - advertisers contact me through email or pay directly.
My ads are handled by OIO Publisher, which makes the process an automatic one - ad slots tend to sell quick, and most are on a subscription basis which means the money comes in every month.
Advertisers have asked for other things like peel away ads, in post ads, joint ventures on product launches, more sponsored posts... again, I turn a lot of them down partly because I don't have time, partly because I don't tend to promote stuff too often on the blog. If you were to open those possibilities you could make a lot more revenue from the site.
Revenue last month (UNCONSTANT):
25 sales of website flipping eBook written by me - $14.95 per eBook sold = $373.75
http://img361.imageshack.us/img361/2093/ejunkieqc4.jpg
Total combined: $973.75
People on the blog had been asking me to create a step by step guide on how to flip websites, as it's something I've covered a lot on the blog - anyways, I did so and 25 proven sales were from the blog itself (it was promoted no where else from the 2nd - 13th of November).
The new owner will NOT get the rights to the report, as they have already been sold off, but this shows one thing - promote quality, and it will sell. On the few times I have promoted products through the blog, they've tended to have done pretty well sales wise.
You could create a product yourself to market or promote a top level quality affiliate one.

Is this being flipped? I remember it was on sale here by someone else just a few days ago.

Nope, same owner, same auction. Auction ended and I didn't get bids more than the reserve price or people wanted to pay in installments. Listing it to see if there's better luck this time around or I will just keep it :)

I love this blog. I'd buy it if I wasn't already too busy with other projects and trying to branch out of the MMO niche. It will be a great buy for someone as long as they can keep up the quality. Good luck with the auction!

Beautiful site. A little high for me, right now, but definitely without a doubt, worth the price. Good luck with the sale.

Just a heads up to all bidders & potential bidders as I've been asked this a lot - the reserve IS $7,500 and if it is passed, the blog will be sold. If it is not passed, I will keep it and continue to earn money for relatively little work.
Feel free to PM or post here if you have any other questions. :)

I am just curious about that. Please let me know.

Good luck with your sale Jason :) If I didn't need the money, I would have never sold bloggin-ads for that low either :(
