Don't get down because you didn't "perform" with one set of VC's. You've built a great product, and I think if you put together a team to join you in this you can take it to the next level. I would suggest bringing on partners with perhaps more credentials and contacts than yourself and going after funding again. Best of luck!

Since I cannot afford to pay you what this site is worth, here's my 2 cents:

This is a great site! It's much better than 99.9% of the garbage for sale in this forum because it's a REAL business. You should keep it for yourself. Just keep growing it until the VCs come knocking.

What % of the company does the angel investor own?

It doesn't matter what his equity is, because when you buy the site, you are buying 100% of the company, and the angel makes back a % of that price.

I think this auction has turned into a therapy session because it's clear that the seller should keep his site! It's just sad to see a successful entrepreneur give up too soon.

I have seen a very similar thing get funding, and then the VC proceeded to make changes to the "service/product" that eventually killed the site.

Don't think that VC have the answers. They don't, they JUST have money. If you need money you need VC. But I would suggest that you check out what you can do on your own to organically grow the site, and keep thinking of ways to make money and get attention. You got it here, you can get it the rest of the way.

Now that's it for the free therapy. If you must get rid of the site, then the following is important to know for any buyer.

    1. how much does the angel own. He/she can stop a transaction if they own enough, or are against it can tie you and whoever buys up in court for a very long time.

    2. do you have full ownership of all of the code etc....

    3. what VC have you spoken to.

    4. proof of traffic and proof of ownership ( you have to verify your site... :-) )

    This is an interesting site.

seller are you planning to monetize the site, if yes, do it now with all this traffic your stepping over dollars to pickup pennies at $2G's a month. Why would someone by a RR without an engine?

If I'm correct, he has 8 ad spots on Entrecard that have 2 in rotation. Each spot is currently $50 a month, which makes the total monthly income $800 . If I recall, Graham did initially only have 6 ad spots at around $100 each, but lowered the price. Now I'm not sure why he lowered the price, but you could ask him.

    Best of luck :)

strikers1985 you'll notice that they have been spamming the sitepoint marketplace on all auctions with that BS message. Obviously they have no idea how to market a site and are just damaging their brand.
