Description
eBay's recent changes in their feedback policy angered thousands of sellers, caused boycotts and lead to sellers looking for other venues.
RepXchange is giving the power back to the sellers, allowing them to filter out unprofitable bidders from their auctions.
This custom developed site allows sellers to generate and download a list of bidders who have slighted other bidders in the past and add these IDs into their own blocked bidders list. By doing so, sellers proactively protect themselves against bidders who are likely to cause them loss of time, money and reputation.
RepXchange has received rave reviews from customers ad eBay bloggers/reporters. The first month after it launched it grew from 0-to-400 business customers/subscribers in one month with out any formal marketing or PR! Our customers are fiercely loyal and are generating all the new sign-ups by virtue of being vocal ambassadors of the site.
It is custom built with patents filed to protect many of the unique features that allow users to extract highly, custom blocked bidder lists to fit their business profile.
The site's technology was architected by an experienced interactive product development expert and an ebay powerseller. The site was developed over 3 months with an offshore team.
Comes with a flexible management system and can easily be extended to include paid memberships.
Revenue Details
At this stage the goal has been to build mass and usage, and then the plan is to convert free usage into a subscription model. This conversion can happen at any time with very little development effort.

This is not a script - it's a custom built, highly advanced blocked bidder and eBay seller management system. The algorithm that narrows down hundreds of thousands of blocked bidders down to the maximum 5000 blocked bidders that a seller can use, is highly complex and patent pending.
This system is designed to deal with the overload of blocked bidder reports that are accumulated when thousands of sellers participate.

Interesting! Since May how many registered users do you have? Do you have competition? Do you have any paid advertising? As an eBay Powerseller, I can't imagine paying for such a concept and haven't really modified my blocked bidder list in years because I haven't needed to. Tell me, once a user gets his list, do they come back? Have you considered some type of public database whereby users can post detailed transaction reports and others make comments? What about a site forum for general eBay discussions? I'm trying to justify a $25k opening bid but just don't see alot of potential for revenue here. You obviously have a plan. Can you let us know why the site is worth at least $25k now?

$25K is the development cost - so that's the baseline. Sellers come back to update their blocked biddder lists to make sure they are protected against the latest offenders. Ultimately, the plan is to offer users a subscription plan for access to the service, which can be implemented as a monthly all-you-can eat or as a metered plan. The hooks for this is already in place, and I'm happy to work with a bidder to come up with a price for an ecommerce implementation that meets his specific monetization goals.
There is already functionality in place to report detailed transaction data, but what I have found is that most users use the bulk upload feature instead. This is all about getting down to business and it seems that the members aren't looking for another place to vent, but an easy, convenient way to protect themselves against bad bidders now that they can't leave negative feedback.
There is plenty of information about how the site works in the FAQ section of the site. If you are an eBay seller you should log on and try it out for yourself.
I can take anyone who is seriously interested, and ready to sign an NDA, through the admin interface and explain how everything works.
There is competition. Below are links to reviews of different services:

http://makingamark.blogspot.com/2008/05/techie-saturday-fair-play-returns-for.htmlI think this is a great opportunity for any entrepreneur who wants to establish a services business in the online auctions space, or for any existing ebay services vendor who wants to differentiate their service and gather new sales leads for their primary business through this service.

This site was not built to have revenue from day one. The strategy is to build community first, then introduce premium services. Alternatively, companies looking to add another lead generation vehicle to their portfolio might want to use this site without adding revenues. Those versed in business strategy would not ask this type of question. Furthermore, I'm not sure what no feedback has to do with the validity of the site.

I'm selling because I just started a new company, www.socialintent.com, and is too busy with that to take this site to the next level.

I had a question about Laurie Borden. Does she really exist or is that just a marketing trick to make the site appear more friendly? If she does exist would she still post on the blog?

She exists. She's the wife of the owner (me) is a former eBay powerseller and and handles all customer relations. She'll be amused to learn that she appears friendly ;-) She could be part of the deal in terms of a retainer agreement for her services or using her 'brand'.

It seems like this forum is not the place to sell a business like this - but those of you who want to learn more, please continue to reach out to us using the contact information found on the site itself.
