Yes, but your home page says "No advertisements on your pages, ever!" Putting ads on the sites would not be well received.

Started in April. In 1 month time, you got 65,000 members but you said 300 per day.

    300 x 30 = 9000 members

    Why 65000?

Can you tell me what is involved in running the site? Ho much time does it take on a weekly basis? I didnt find the answer to this question in the old listing.

To run the site does not require much work. Routine cleaning of abusers takes around 1h a day, checking e-mail, advertising and thinking on how to improve it maybe another hour.
Whenever there is a problem with the server we can give you contact of a person who is quite "fluent" in speaking the language of the software on which this hosting is run. Standard reboots when a server goes down or starts to stutter takes around 30 min.

There is some confusion around user growth. The site is over a year now and these 65,000 users are those who have joined since the start of the project. At this time we are getting around 300 users per day. It does not take much to make a simple approximation: 300*365 - deleting abusers, rounds up to around 65,000 total users over the course of a year.

Could you be more precise about the costs involved in running the site? It seems to me there are other expenses beyond hosting, e.g. domain name renewals, perhaps some labor cost for trouble shooting.

I noticed an upgrade page with $6.95 and 10.95 a month costs for heavy duty service. How much revenue is currently brought in with the upgraded services packages?

Hello, I'm Burke, the FreeWeb7 Support Forum's Administration team's Leader.

Well, as you can by Alexa.com, our site stats are usually pretty good.
    http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/freeweb7.com
We have had some server troubles that were beyond our control, and that resulted in some drops, but not too much of a problem, as it is starting to pick back up. They show our traffic rating as: 10,808.

I assume you are reffering to things like Joomla. Joomla is banned as it takes up too much server resources and casuses other's sites to run slowly, which isnt fair. You account isnt read only, fopen() is blocked for security reasons and cannot be enabled becasue LayeredPanel does not allow it. The downtime was to upgrade the servers to newer, faster ones to cope with the growth. The new servers are online and Freeweb7 is running faster than ever.

@sohinc123: It is easy to change the main website template. The template is only XHTML/CSS. It's easy to customise. With any project you need to at least know some webdesign and coding, otherwise hire someone to do it. If you hired someone, it wouldn't cost you alot, it would be a simple job. We do regualry monitor all sites, we have a tracking script that searches most of the search enginges too, to find links relating to Freeweb7. Most websites obviously do still appear on the servers are hosting adult content amongst other abusive content, i.e: Nulled vBulletin scripts, as these are either hidden, or they don't post links publically. Either way, there will always be the odd amount. Most of the abusive accounts have been deleted, I personally am the one who is mostly responsiable for removing the violating accounts. Recently I haven't found that many violating accounts, as most where removed before we implemented the script to find violating accounts.

@muzical: I don't think you are allowed to remove your bid. If you have questions, ask them. Can you elaborate on what the "people" have been saying? Have you made sure they aren't either 1) selling an opposing free host or, 2) have had a grude agaisn't Freeweb7 or have had a bad expereince? I can assure you now, the support we offer to our clients is of a higher standard than more paid hosting companies.
