Description

I'm selling rouletteontheweb.com, it currently holds a pr 5, is listed in dmoz for the category, roulette, and has been online for over 4 years. Earlier in the year this site ranked in the top 10 in google for the search term, "roulette". I'm getting out of the business, chopping up and selling my network of casino sites and moving on. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thanks, Pawel

Revenue Details

All money is earned thru affiliate sales.

I will not be selling affiliate accounts with this site because I have all my sites sending traffic to the same affiliate accounts. Thus making it impossible to seperate rouletteontheweb revenue from my other sites.

    Hi Chromedia,

Theres no real way for me to show proof of income. I have over 50 sites which I use the same exact affiliate codes.

I believe the value in this site is judged by the pagerank, the quality of links, the age of site plus the current flow traffic. If your in the gambling business you should have a fair idea of how much this site is worth.

If your not in the gambling business I woundn't recommend buying this site.

    Hi bhonest2,

I don't pay for any of the current links.

Some of the links where acquired threw link exchanges. Others where acquired thru me acutally paying outside services to place permanent one way links on other websites.

Plus of cousre, the dmoz listing, which is used by hundreads of other websites also generates lots of backlinks.

You have 12 links pages, and hardly any content pages. How is this website ranking in Yahoo and MSN? I also noticed an email signup list. How many emails do you have and are they included?

    Hi AdioKing,

"How is this website ranking in Yahoo and MSN?"

Open Directory, search engines LOVE websites that are listed in that dirctory.

As far as the newsletter, I'm only selling the website and the domain.

The seller is right to warn others regarding the legality of owning such a site. Particularly if you reside in the USA. I think its interesting whilst the new US laws won't necessarily stop the online casinos from accepting US players, they WILL make it very difficult to own an affiliate site. An analysis of the new laws can be found at poker.com.

I'm Australian and here online gambling is highly regulated, but the laws for affiliate sites are somewhat more ambiguous.

WOW! I just checked Google and rouletteontheweb.com appears to have been semi-released from the sandbox.

It currently ranks #12, for kw, Roulette

Postion #19 for kw, online roulette

Postion # 6 for kw, play online roulette

Postion #6 for kw, roulette strategy

With a little bit of work this site will rank easy in the top 5 in Google for kw, "roulette"

Heads up! This auction will end in less than two days, so remember to place your bids before the auction is over.

    Thanks,
    Pawel

Regarding USA gambling legislation, the article I was trying to refer to above is "The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 Analyzed" by Professor I. Nelson Rose Gambling attorney. You can google it or this link should work

    http://www.casinocitytimes.com/article.cfm?ContentAndContributorID=30106

I'd say Pawel would be selling due to the problems Prof Rose describes:
"The greatest danger here would seem to be with affiliates. Any American operator can be easily grabbed. This includes sites that don't directly take bets, but do refer visitors to gaming sites. If the affiliate is paid for those referrals by receiving a share of the money wagered or lost, it would not be difficult to charge the affiliate with violating this law, under the theory of aiding and abetting. Being a knowing accomplice and sharing in the proceeds of a crime make the aider and abettor guilty of the crime itself. The federal government could also charge the affiliate with conspiracy to violate this new Act."

From what I can research for my own situation in AUSTRALIA (where internet gambling is also technically banned), it is legal for an Australian to own an affiliate site provided the site specifically excludes access to Australians. How exactly one would do that I'm not sure but i'm not a guru when it comes to such things.
