Watch the video below to learn a bit more about the business.

Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start with this concept?

At 17 I read Richard Branson’s autobiography and knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I went and studied business in my college. Through my early to mid 20’s I had 4 businesses and start-ups, all that unfortunately did not work out. After finishing an incubator program with a start-up I just quit I was looking for my next venture. I got very interested in eCommerce and started researching 100’s of products. I thought blue light glasses were cool, were going to be really big and I also related to them having come from a health and fitness background. Within the first 3 weeks, we did 25k in sales, more revenue than I’s ever seen in my entire entrepreneurial career. Within 2 months we hit 100k. For the last 2 years, I have been building out Kanturo through diversifying sales channels, hiring awesome VA’s, and launching new products. Currently, Kanturo has done $3.4  million in revenue with a 10% profit margin in just under 2 years.

How and where are your products made? Are they privately branded and/or exclusive to your store?

Our products are made and stored in Shenzhen. The products are bought by my supplier who brands them for us. Once an order comes in I pay my supplier to send out the order. In this sense, we dropship from our supplier. My supplier already has all the stock branded on hand.

Are you drop-shipping your products or holding your inventory?

My supplier holds the inventory and we dropship them to the customer. We use Yun Express and so we have an average of 5days shipping to our main market in the UK. Shipping for other countries is between 6-12 days. We have a 0.001% chargeback rate and our Facebook score is consistently above a 4, coming in at 4.6/5 last week.

What is your return on ad spend on the various channels that you are using?

Facebook/Instagram Returns us around a 2 ROAS on average.

Google Returns around a 2.7 ROAS, more lately we have seen a 3 ROASE-mail Marketing returns us a 2.3 ROAS after the agency and COGS are paid.

How much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

The business is very hands-off. It takes around 7-8 hours a week to manage the business. All that is needed is to manage the team’s questions on Slack, re-order inventory and manage Facebook ads. We have 3 VA’s that do customer service and some logistics tasks. We have 1 e-mail marketing agency, 1 google ads agency, and 1 social media manager who posts on social and acquires all the content for Facebook/Instagram Ads.
