I’m a serial entrepreneur who has built and sold multiple e-commerce brands. From the pet space to print on demand, I’ve done multiple 7 figures.
As an e-Commerce business, where are your products made?
China private label.How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?
Most of our sales have come from Amazon, but now we are focused on Shopify (as of a few weeks ago).
Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?
Yes, but we didn’t do anything for Amazon. But with Shopify, you will need to do the following: 1. Marketing – You will either need to run traffic yourself or hire an outside agency to drive traffic via paid or influencer marketing. 2. Customer Service – We have someone who can be outsourced or you can find someone yourself to outsource. 3. Fulfillment – We have our own warehouse to do fulfilment, but you could also easily get a 3PL to do the same. 4. Products – We have enough inventory for multiple 6 figures in revenue, but we get our products from China via private label and can connect you with the supplier. 5. Website – We do not do anything to the website, but we have the connection to the person who built it if you want to revamp it.
What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?
They will need to drive traffic via influencers or paid media.
Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?
1 – influencer marketing, 2- paid media via search-based platforms, 3- retail
How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?
It was primarily Amazon before being delisted. Now it will have to be Shopify or retail or another opportunity.What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?
Google.
How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?
On Shopify, we use some google ads but most are likely from our reputation on Amazon.
How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?
2 but as long as you outsource the marketing, and use a 3PL for the fulfilment, you will be mostly just monitoring progress.What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?
After Amazon delisted, it would require much more of our attention than the auto-pilot it was on. Because we have a core business that is doing over $10M/year, we need to focus on that.
