Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

My wife and I are very health conscious and after buying several supplements from Amazon and receiving really poor quality products, we saw there was an opportunity to sell quality crafted supplements on Amazon. We have also strived to sell products that have a strong problem/solution concept. 

My wife and I also very much enjoy yoga and fitness so we were sure to incorporate this into the brand. We set out to create the most authentic brand possible.

As an e-Commerce business, where are your products made?

All of our products are made in the United States which makes this a very easy brand to operate.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Most of the customers originate from Amazon and solid keyword rankings because the brand is almost 4 years old on Amazon.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

This brand is 100% owner-operated and I operate it in 5-10 hours per week. Since we clearly tell the customer what the product does on the listings, we have very few customer messages. Most of the time is with operations to coordinate inventory transfers to FBA. 

I also spend 1-2 hours a week managing and optimizing the Amazon PPC campaigns. Overall, the business currently runs itself quite well.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

To continue operating the business I would recommend doing the above operational tasks and Amazon PPC management.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Due to the stability ILK Company has on Amazon, there are many opportunities you could take with three that would instantly grow sales:

The first would be to apply for Brand Registry so that you have the ability to turn on Subscribe & Save to increase automatic monthly orders.

The second would be to launch the brand on Walmart and eBay as the brand has a very loyal customer base so maybe some of them are more inclined to purchase on those platforms.

The third would be to start leveraging the Instagram account to collect emails and launch email campaigns to further drive additional sales. 

From there, you could launch influencer campaigns as the brand has a strong Instagram style to it. And even start to regularly add blog content to leverage Google traffic. 

There are many opportunities with ILK Company because it has such a strong visual base to it.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

The brand has held quite steady in the almost-4 years it has been on Amazon. The last year sales have decreased a little as I have been too preoccupied to focus enough attention on the brand. With just a little dedication and utilizing the first 3 suggestions above, you could easily 2x or 3x this brand in the next 3-6 months.

We are selling this brand because we have another business and with also having 2 small children, I am unable to dedicate the right amount of time to properly grow the brand.
