Fred Schebesta on The Number One Principle to Going Live in 2021

Fred Schebesta at Own Your Future 2021 for Flippa

Building a Successful Business

When it comes to building a successful business, and brand, Fred Achebesta is no stranger to the craft.

The Australian entrepreneur, founder of Finder, and author of his recent book, “Go Live: 10 Principles of to Launch a Global Empire” shared the raw truth when it comes to building a successful business.

At 33 years old, he’s learned from his failures and even “fired” himself when he realized that he was a blocker to Finder’s success.

So what’s the secret to building a half-billion dollar business? It’s simple, but understandably a feat to achieve.

So we’ve highlighted a few key principles from this segment. Here’s some powerful takeaways:

What are things you’re non-negotiable about?  When you’re making a decision, there’s a key principle that does not budge. Something you’re not willing to compromise. This is your non-negotiable.

It’s important to make something you understand and make it easy to do. You just build a brand— do not start with growth hacks.

Speed is important in business. Conduct growth experiments.

Understand the importance of capital allocation. Where do you focus your energy and attention? Pinpoint those factors. What’s the #1 thing your team is focused on? This focus is what will determine where your company will go. It’s important to listen to your customer as they drive what category you should pursue next.

Other topics Fred touched in are:

  • NFTS
  • Emotional intelligence

It was an interesting and entertaining chat! For more on what Fred’s up to, check out Finder.com.
