Featured Listing: Thriving Content Business

About the business

Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

I have been involved in the eCommerce industry and Digital marketing in general since 2013 when I was in college (Finance major), and Content websites was one of my first businesses, we were relying on Facebook as a traffic source for a very long time until updates came in and messed up everything, facebook now is volatile more than ever, that’s why I decided to look for an alternative.
Pinterest was on top of the list, and was an emerging social media and saw a huge opportunity there after years of testing and learning, I’ve built up these websites and I’m more confident that Pinterest is now a lot better than Facebook when it comes to sustainability and stability of the business.

What can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

We have audiences and readers instead of customers, and I can say that the cost is nearly 0, as we spend so little on advertising to get millions of visitors and so many are recurrent and subscribe to our social accounts to become daily fans/followers.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Our customers are based in Germany, we have done a lot of market research and benchmark to take a decision to work on the German audience, we don’t rely on advertising as much as we like to be called an organic website, where we acquire visits for free, because of the value we are sharing every day.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

It takes about 2-4 hours per week to follow up with 1 team member that’s taking care of everything. we’ve automated the business on a system to optimize the work and the process.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

With or without experience this is a straightforward business, easy to manage and can be considered as passive income but what would be ideal is that the new owner would take this to the next level and scale it more. there’s ground for growth and opportunities.

Growing the business

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

All growth strategies will be provided to the buyer, including a Facebook and SEO strategy to grow the business, new hires to operate faster and on all the social media platforms. also introducing new monetization methods which can affect extremely the income . and more opportunities that I’ll be sharing during a call with the buyer.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

The 3 websites have been literally started from 0, we haven’t introduced ads until they started to get real attention and I think that the strongest point the network has, is the ability to operate organically.

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

The business makes money from ads placed inside posts/articles, the current revenue streams are MGID and Adsense.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

Currently, we are using only Pinterest.

How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?

We believe our business doesn’t require ads and most of the traffic is organic, advertising is just to have more visibility.

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

There’s only me and one VA from the Philippines who run this business. While it can be run by a single person as it doesn’t require much time, I hired someone to focus on other businesses and make the system work efficiently.
