Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

SoundUp Now was established as an easy and code-free way to create your Alexa flash briefing or custom Alexa skill for your brand or business. Since creating the platform and integrating with Amazon, we have expanded into helping our members create and host podcasts, integrate their audio content on their websites and blogs, and provide tools for all their audio content creation and distribution needs. We wanted to be the all-in-one go-to for your audio content for your brand/business. We have recently added our iOS app to conveniently record and post on the go, while also giving the ability to search, connect, and listen to our member’s podcasts and flash briefings right from the app.

As an e-Commerce business, where are your products made?

We created the code for our platform right here in the US.   As a SaaS business, what can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)   Having a steady fixed cost for unlimited use, or even using our free tier membership can really give the customer long term value for their content creation that can grow their brand and business long term. Customer acquisition is relatively low but in line with marketing a content creation platform to a business and brand consumer-focused base.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Most of our marketing is online and social media, along with word of mouth and some conference appearances. Our top industries where members originate are Mortgage, Real Estate, and Coaching

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

We are owner-operated, though internships have been considered. Our main operator spent about 15-20 hours per week originally to grow membership and developer no more than 3-5 hours a week on the back end of the platform

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Since our platform has gotten to a point of pretty much being self-sustaining outside of minor bug fixes here and there that could be outsourced to anyone with Java knowledge, the main focus to make the business successful is marketing and membership growth.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Focusing more on new podcasters and really growing the Alexa Skill building module on the platform will differentiate a new owner in the audio content platform field.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

We started only as an Alexa Flash Briefing skill creator solution outside of Amazon, we grew to an all in one audio content creation and distribution hosting platform for podcasts, audiograms, on dash recording, mobile recording in our iOS app, and more!

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

Purely through membership base currently – though opportunities in affiliate programs and future advertisements could be possible.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

Social media on Facebook and Instagram – and secondly conferences

How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?

We haven’t even tapped into full-time marketing strategy, though we have tried multiple marketing ventures just to see response – we would be happy to talk to any new owner about the potential that we have found in our strategies

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?

We lost one of the main operators over a year ago, the “front guy” if you will – the remaining 2 of us do not have the time needed to focus on growing and making a business successful, even though we see the unlimited potential!
