Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

Censor Dodge started simply as a personal project when I was 16. I maintained it to fulfil my needs, as the proxy sites on the market were slow, and ridden with popups, not to mention that the proxy script that powered them was outdated and did not do what I needed. This went as far as even getting blocked fairly instantly after the first use, because of heuristic analysis and clues in the URLs.

So I started writing Censor Dodge, which at the time was just called “web proxy”, to unblock sites at school. Then friends and family started using it for their purposes, and it spread around the school, even teachers began to use it!

After that, I became passionate about censorship and the domain name came up for sale, so I chose to re-brand the platform as Censor Dodge and released the script online completely open-source. As time progressed, I decided to further the brand and make it easier for people to create their proxies to get around blocking, and our revolutionary one-click setup was born.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

The site has strong google rankings with 684,654 page views a month but there is loads of room on the table to grow revenue.

Censor Dodge is passive income at the moment.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Nothing except pay for hosting and the domains.

With some more ads, affiliate links, and branching out into VPNs, earning money from this network of sites will be like flipping a light switch.

What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?

Have too many projects, and my heart is already in other projects. it makes me sad to sell this site as it I have owned it so long, but I don’t want to see it die when someone else could easily turn this network into a juggernaut.
