About the business

Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

I am a busy Real Estate broker and my husband, the inventor, is also very busy running a biotech company. We developed the idea out of a passion for preparing delicious, perfectly cooked food in an easy, efficient way. My husband is a packaging expert and culinary scientist serious about food who began cooking sous vide years ago. I just enjoy great food made easy! This business grew from his fast and reliable packaging concept for sous vide cooking to vacuum seal in seconds. The bags meet many consumer needs from foodies to meal preppers, keto followers, and active people who just love great food. We made it to the last round of Shark tank in both 2019 and 2020 with our product.

As an eCommerce business, where are your products made?

• All suppliers are US-based.
• Supplier network- fitment, bags, packaging (one suppler for each) and co-packers.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Amazon campaigns have been our primary marketing activity. We have done very very little social media marketing. Customers have primarily been Amazon so far. A few find our Facebook or Instagram, but we have not promoted the sites.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

1-2 hours per week currently. A growing business could take 4-8 hours weekly. Periodic increased effort time when production runs are underway (approx 1 run per year so far).

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Manage current Amazon campaigns and ship products to Amazon FBA as needed. Fulfil Shopify orders.

Growing the business

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

• Marketing – Lead FBA marketing and campaigns
• Drive Shopify site sales – Currently, the majority of our sales are from our Amazon presence. High-profit revenue could be driven with improved SEO and targeted social media marketing for the Shopify site.
• Expand to additional e-commerce sites (ex- Walmart e-comm, eBay, etc).

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

Amazon payments primarily. Also, Shopify store and some brick & mortar kitchen store sales.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

Amazon and our Shopify Store.

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

1 person. During production times, maybe 2 people for a few weeks once a year.

What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?

We do not have time to grow this business with our current jobs and we are not professional marketers. It’s time for a company/owner with the right skills to drive sales and adoption.
