About the business
Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?
I have a strong background with experience in sales which then led to marketing. When covid hit my main business in the tourism industry, which sells events & excursions to tourists stopped operating and is now starting back again as the resort it’s based is opening back up.
As an eCommerce business, where are your products made?
Our products are manufactured in China.
What can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
LTV: $30, CAC: $12
How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?
We have marketed this product via Facebook, Instagram & Google Ads with user-generated content from influencers. Our customers are based in UK and Ireland as that’s where we have targeted and established the brand.
Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?
Yes, I have been putting in around 20 hours per week however for the first 12 months of operations I was putting in 60+ hours weekly as it was my main venture. There is 1 VA needed and they would require 10-15 hours weekly.
What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?
Keep the advertisements running, monitor them, and adjust accordingly but that won’t be needed too often. You don’t want to make too many changes to ads, but you do want to test new creatives ongoingly and turn off anything that becomes unprofitable.
Growing the business
Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?
The opportunities are endless. I highly recommend promoting and selling products from this brand in the USA, Canada, Australia and foreign-speaking countries in Europe such as Germany, Spain, France & Italy where I have checked and there is definitely demand. These territories will be very profitable and it’s a pity I have not had the time to advertise and establish the brand in the mentioned areas.
What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?
This brand has gone from a start-up eCommerce store to an established go-to for its evergreen products in the beauty niche, with a very strong presence in the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?
This brand makes money through its sales on Shopify, with traffic coming from Facebook, Instagram, and Google advertising, as well as some organic, word of mouth, and social media following.
What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?
Facebook/Google.
How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?
The marketing costs are completely dependent on how you want to scale and how much work you put into the business. If you wish to scale it to 6 figures revenue monthly, of course, it will take some more input and capital, which I highly recommend doing as the potential is a given and there are major competitors doing 8 figures revenue yearly.
Currently, the brand is spending around 15k per month on marketing.
How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?
Currently 2 People.
What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?
Unfortunately, I have not been able to dedicate the time this brand deserves. As well as my commitment to other ventures I also trade a lot of cryptocurrencies which has become my passion. This year my main business will operate again so I look forward to having that work which requires me to leave the office for a few hours daily, and then when I am working online I will be just running my marketing agency, as well as researching & trading cryptocurrency.
