About the business
Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?
I have bought and sold sites on Flippa for 15+ years with over $50k in sales. I bought this site five years ago and it has been great. I’m moving and would like to sell to someone who can make it grow.
As an eCommerce business, where are your products made?
China.
What can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
CAC is zero, all word of mouth. Average customer buys 2-3 pairs since I’ve owned the store. Lots of repeat customers.
How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?
I have done zero marketing. Customers all come from organic links, word of mouth and recommendations from equestrian school instructors.
Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?
5-10 minutes per week, all run by the owner.
What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?
Store the inventory (one shelf worth), answer a few questions per month via email, ship out orders.
Growing the business
Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?
Advertising, updating the blog, continuing sponsorships, reaching out to existing and new equestrian schools, affiliates, expanding product offerings, selling on Amazon or Walmart.com.
What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?
It has remained pretty steady.
How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?
Profit on sales of professionally designed equestrian riding pants (jodhpurs).
What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?
I have not done any marketing.
How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?
Zero marketing costs, all customers are repeat and/or word of mouth, referrals from equestrian schools and instructors.
How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?
Owner only, 5-10 minutes per week.
What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?
It’s the largest marketplace and where I’ve bought and sold all of my sites.
