Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

I’m a content marketer and PR manager focused on high growth industries. I owned and operated another successful cannabis content website before purchasing weedloving.ca from the previous owner.

What can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

Difficult to say as I didn’t optimize CRM at all. However, I never spent a single penny on customer acquisition.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

I have made affiliate marketing deals with the best CBD brands in Canada and have set up an advertising page that attracts inbound leads.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

It is owner operated. I spent about 4h weekly for operations, and in the beginning, I spent about 40hrs extra to optimize the site for SEO and write a few articles. Other than that, I didn’t hire anyone.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

You can run it as it is, but I highly recommend investing some time or funds in more content and updating the existing content.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Optimize existing content (updating articles etc.) 2. Just push out more articles. I haven’t published anything new for almost a year.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

It started out as a cannabis news site under the original owner, but I decided to turn it more into a review platform for CBD products. Since then it has increased substantially in revenue.

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

Most are generated through affiliate marketing, although I also sold advertising directly to businesses for the first half-year, which accounted for around 25% of total revenue.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

I have only used the website/advertising page itself to attract new business.

How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?

Handling incoming advertising requests and 2. optimizing affiliate revenue – no marketing costs.
