About the business

Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

I run a web development team specializing in eCommerce. Together with my team, we have gained enough experience to recognize when a store has great potential and this is one of those that can really become a leading brand in the Sports & Outdoor market niches that is an evergreen and one of the most profitable niches on the web. The brand started operating in June 2020 and gained huge feedback in a short amount of time, being able to grow from 0 to almost $20,000 in about one year. That’s why we soon acquired it, and we then decided to take advantage of the initial success of the store adding new items, renewing the catalogue, and finding suppliers that could automate the entire business model.

As an eCommerce business, where are your products made?

Ardues.com is a fully automated dropshipping business: that means that the inventory is updated and orders are managed by the supplier automatically. The dropshipping business model lets us test new products without the need for an investment for the stock and the risk of purchasing the goods in advance.
The products come from reliable Chinese manufacturers that we chose to keep the cost of goods as low as possible. The hype behind the products for sale makes them some of the greatest winning products and the target of buyers from all around the world. They are offered at very low prices that users tend to buy in bulk or add upsells/cross-sells in their order. The Supplier is a very fast and reliable partner that will ship the orders directly to your customer everywhere in the world.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Almost all the sales came from paid PPC techniques that can be scaled to bring this brand to the next level.
I’ll be available during the after-sale support as an eCom advisor to help understand and put into practice the most important marketing techniques that I personally use on the other store I successfully run. I will include the marketing material used for ardues as well

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

We have configured the store to minimize the need for manual work: all the main tasks such as inventory, stock, and orders management are completely automated letting the owner focus only on the website marketing. A few hours a week can be enough, depending on the new owner’s background and previous experience in eCommerce.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

The main job for the new owner will be to market the products setting up and testing new campaigns.

Growing the business

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

There’s a huge potential still to take advantage of: proper Google Ads, Influencer marketing and private labelling are still unexplored and can really skyrocket this business.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

Ardues.com is a website that started operating in June 2020 and gained huge feedback in a short amount of time, being able to collect revenues for almost 20,000$ in a short time. What’s more interesting is that about half of the sales took place in just 2 months. When the store got its peaks in traffic, for example in the Q4 period, it reached sales for almost 5,000$/mo and this amazing trend can be easily maintained by applying the best marketing techniques that we teach in detail to our customers.
We, therefore, decided to take advantage of the initial success of the store adding new items, renewing the catalogue, and finding suppliers that could automate the entire business model. If you consider the success reached by the brand with the basic theme it had before our intervention, you can imagine what a fully optimized website can achieve by scaling the strategies involved.

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

Ardues.com is a dropshipping business: this is an order fulfilment method that does not require a business to keep products in stock. For example, when a user buys a product on the site for 100 $, you will receive an email notification and the order is forwarded automatically to the supplier. You will pay your supplier 60 $, earning a net profit of 40 $ just for that. All the orders can be managed once a time with a single click: you won’t even need to enter your customer shipping details because they will be forwarded automatically to the supplier. Finally, the supplier will send the product directly to your customer, the package doesn’t contain any information such as the logo or invoice of the actual supplier.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

Most of the sales came from Facebook ads, but I suggest expanding the business by testing new platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Google ads.

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

A single person can easily run a business like this.

What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?

Even if I saw an extraordinary potential in this brand and the manual work required is at its minimum, my agency received a work offer as web developers on a big project in a completely different market niche. We wouldn’t have enough time to devote to this eCommerce and scale it as we would and that’s why we prefer to sell it to someone who can make the most out of it and grow the brand as it deserves.
