About the business

Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

I’m 27 years old and have been involved with SEO since 2013 when I was 18. After a lot of initial failures, I learned things the harder way after losing a lot of money and time. However, my habit of continuous tinkering/optimization and testing eventually did wonders for my SEO. I started this project in 2019 and worked on writing a post a day for 90 days straight. I use 100% white hat SEO and my core strategy is about content optimization – producing content that’s appealing to both people search engine bots with the former being my priority. From a very early age, I knew I’d do something different and that this 9-5 isn’t for me. This hunger and continuous pursuit of knowledge led me here, and I came up with this blog – a work from the home blog that will enable people to leave 9-5 jobs with quality business opportunities that are changing lives lately. Fast forward to today, the blog has well over 300 high-quality blog posts with an average post length of 1,000 words.

What can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

Almost all of my income (90% plus) comes from affiliate marketing. I get traffic from the search engines and promote the products that I believe in. Closing sales is not my job, it’s the job of the platform where I’m sending my audience. I’m good at driving traffic so I’d rather focus on what I do best – SEO. Dealing with customers/and closing sales is not my job. I’d rather let a salesman do that (in this case, the affiliate program) since they’re better closers than me.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

I don’t have my own products, but 90% plus of my traffic comes from big money keywords ranking very highly on Google page 1 in the US (usually top 5 spots).

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

Almost everything is automated at this point. However, if you want to take things to the next level and increase your revenue/profits, I recommend working 4-5 hours a week on this site so as to produce new/fresh content every week. I believe in simplicity, all the business owner will have to do is produce fresh quality content that the website visitors will see. If you write it well, it will automatically be SEO optimized and eventually rank highly on the search engines (usually within 3-6 months). Things add up, and they do faster than you think.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Growing the business

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Absolutely. I do email marketing as well but due to time constraints, I’m not doing it enough as of late. If you have an audience that’s interested in something, let’s say home business opportunities, and if you drive them to the website to the content, it may tenfold your results in the long run. Use a combination of email marketing, social media promotion, and paid ads (Google ads, Bing) if you want to take things to the next level. I don’t experiment with paid ads so I can’t guide you there as it’s not my area of expertise.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

It went from nothing to something that regularly gets DDOS attacks. Thanks to my website’s high security, nothing impacts it. If you’re getting targeted by people with malicious intentions, better believe you’re doing something right. The website ranks for well over 2,000 keywords in 50+ countries as of today, and the sky is the limit if you continue to work on it. I’ve used 0 shady tactics/black hat strategies because it’s like killing the golden goose. Nothing beats good old hard work if you want to achieve something in life and it holds true for my website as well.

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

Affiliate marketing, and private sales.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I don’t use any other marketing channels. I did try email marketing as well but I ditched it because of time constraints.

How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?

Zero advertising costs – everything comes straight from the search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo (100% free traffic thanks to SEO)

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

I’m the sole owner of this website. I don’t have any team members. I love producing content so I write it all on my own. You can benefit from hiring a content writer and a virtual assistant if you want someone else to do the work for you (finding content ideas, trends, etc).
