Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

My Name is Harris Nghiem and I have a degree in CS and I’m pursuing my MBA at LSU. The business was started over 5 years ago with my business partner, who is also my cousin after a shared friend who needed proof of income from a valet job. He came up with the idea of allowing customers to create their own supporting financial documentation since cash-based employees don’t always receive this.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Mostly from ads but ~355 come from organic, which is where we thrive. Our marketing team has some sophisticated ways of getting customers far and wide.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

I’m only around for long-term goals, roughly 3-5 hours a week since we’re expanding internationally. The rest of the team has been vetted, trained, and know their tasks. Not much automation is needed. The largest pain point is customer support, which we have a team of nearly 10 working 24/7 to help our customers via chat and email, and soon phone.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Pay hosting, ads, and the people. There is no work needed from the owner’s perspective.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Grow it into an actual payroll service. Offer more products in the US and internationally. Tackle affiliate marketing.

A better, cleaner product with top-notch customer service and reliability.

Selling digital documents is 99% of the business. We also have some recurring revenue from affiliate partners to advertise their services on our website.

Organic.

We spend about $150k/month on ads and $15k on content marketing.

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

I manage a team of 4 and they manage teams amounting to about 10. There are almost 25 people in total.
