Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

My background is in design and branding and I have over 22 years of experience in corporate. in 2013 I launched my own business Thrive Magazine, this has evolved and established into a publishing and branding business with Thrive magazine being published and distributed worldwide.

As an eCommerce business, where are your products made?

In the UK, our magazine is digital and in print.

We have returning brands for our advertising year in year out. Out subscriber lifetime value is 3-4 subscriber cycles. Most customer acquisition for subscribers is via organic SEO and word of mouth.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Worldwide customer database but predominantly in the UK. Marketing has been via, onsite SEO. Paid SEO, social media promotions.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

It is owner-operated and has a freelance team in place for the magazine. Designer, Editing, Printing, a panel of writers – who write at no cost. social media support is needed also.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Continue to attract and contact brands for advertising, stay in touch and contact the Thrive panel of writers. Use the existing designer for Thrive magazine. Edit the content and then publish across all digital platforms (handled mostly via the platform itself).

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Huge opportunity:

  • Expand on the advertiser front – owner has never maximised on this – ad team could be brought onboard
  • Take the business into online courses and leanring (huge opportunity here)
  • Promote and expand the marketing for subscribers to buy
