Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

I’m a Surgical tech at a local hospital in Southern California but I have done event planning for over 10 years on the side. I started my business just before the pandemic and quickly started getting bookings. I had baby #2 and now It’s time I slow down business and focus on my kids.

As an eCommerce business, where are your products made?

We have a 20X10 Storage unit full of items we use for our setups. We are constantly buying and selling our items to keep our look fresh.

What can you tell us about your Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

We usually spend about $200- $500 on ads per month and can generate 2-3 bookings per month at an average of $1300. So I would say it’s about $100 CAC and that usually gets us referrals too.

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

We market our service thru Facebook, Instagram, local vendors, and word of mouth

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

I say it takes 1-2 hrs per day to do the clerical work and prep time is about 4hr per event plus the actual event. You can easily hire VA for clerical stuff and a sales rep to close bookings. It’s possible to make this business run with 2 people plus paid services like movers, delivery, drivers, etc. Automation is very little since we deal in people and sales, but there is always room to improve.

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Customer service skills, sales skills, design skills, reliable truck, and time management system

Weddings, Corporate events, Build a team and do more events per day, offer new services like DJ or Food

our inventory is consistently changing so our event setups look good.

We currently make money from the following: Private picnic setups, group picnic setups, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, proposal setups, and some Micro Wedding setups

Facebook and Instagram ads about $200- $500 per month. I feel that if you invest more time in ads and website SEO you can generate more bookings but you need more staff.

currently, there is 1 person (me) during the day-to-day items and 1 helper on event days
