Episode 97

The Wire has Cleared with Jon Carson

This week our host Steve McGarry sits down with Jon Carson. Jon is a multi-exit education entrepreneur with thirty years of experience starting and scaling tech enabled services companies.

To start the show Steve and Jon dive into Jons’ first out of 4 exits, which happened to be a beer keg delivery service in college that he actually sold as a senior. They jump into his next venture at his consulting style business where he ended up selling to an insurance company, and then to his company “The Family Education Network” as well. Jon talks about another one of his exits with the company “Bidding For Good” which somewhat operates like an “eBay for charities”. Jon also goes into some of the specific metrics they were tracking before selling, and since he has exited multiple companies he gives the listener some great insight on some of the steps and actions he took to prepare himself for those exits. Jons’ current company, College Guidance Network, is a digital media company focused on building a comprehensive live, interactive, and on-demand content platform that delivers virtual college and career guidance that is intimate, interactive, and scalable (MasterClass for College and Career Guidance).
