I have been in Digital Publishing, Marketing and Advertising for 15 years. The business started in 1999. I acquired it in 2019.<\/p>\n

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The website gets traffic from Google and other search engines organically and we also do some promotions on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes. It is owner operated. Normally, it would take someone 5 to 10 hours a week to run the website. I have been working on other projects for the past year so I spend 5 hours a month operating the website.<\/p>\n

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It would be best if they added new content on an ongoing basis (5 to 10 articles per month). Someone would need to moderate the forum to continue to grow the community. Someone would need to be a liaison to all advertisers. Someone would need to also manage the Facebook campaigns.<\/p>\n

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Continue to grow the community. Increase spend on the Facebook campaigns. Add more branded advertisers (i.e. peanut free food\/product manufacturers). Create a newsletter for the 11,290 emails. License the email list to more branded advertisers (i.e. peanut free food\/product manufacturers).<\/p>\n

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The website initially just started out as a forum in 1999. Over time it became a website with articles. Emails were also collected as well. When I acquired the website in 2019, we redesigned the website. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\nDirect advertisers, Cost per click advertisers, email list licensing and ad exchanges.\n

Search engines and social media (Facebook).<\/p>\n

How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Most users come in organically from search engines but we also spend ~$500 a month on average on Facebook. We collect emails on the website as well.<\/p>\n

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I run the website on my own. I have used a web engineer contractor in the past to help with the redesign.<\/p>\n
