What started as a university hobby in the dial-up internet era had evolved into a leading sports science website with over 1.4 million monthly page views and nearly $100K in annual profit. The Founder\u2019s Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

He never expected it to become a full-time business. \u201cI just did this thing on the side for years. But once AdSense started making an impact, I realized I could make money from the site. I stopped my other work and went all in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By 2004, Top End Sports became Rob\u2019s primary income stream. He slowly built a massive archive of over 11,000 mostly hand-coded pages. \u201cIt was just a one-man show. I\u2019d add one page at a time. But it adds up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With seasonal traffic spikes during major events like the Olympics and FIFA World Cup, the site had become a staple resource for sports science enthusiasts, students, and athletes worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the business was stable, Rob started considering the future. \u201cI thought it could be a retirement plan,\u201d he said. \u201cBut there’s always that uncertainty with the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An unsolicited offer initially sparked his interest in selling. \u201cIt made me think about my plans\u2026 but trying to sell it on my own was just too complex.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
