Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start with this project?

I work for a tech company as digital marketing expert, I made xiaomitoday.com during my free time and it has grown significantly over the past 6 years.

How does the free writing deal work? Are you splitting affiliate revenue?

I paid the writers from the start, trained the writers to find topics for affiliates and add their own affiliate links, after they made some money, I tell them I can’t pay them anymore, they need to earn by affiliate by themselves.

How much time are you spending on the business each week? What is involved in your day to day work?

7 hours for a week, just review the new articles every day. There isn’t much else to it. Very passive business with a great opportunity for growth in the future.

Have you ever run into any issues using a brand name for the website domain?

Not in the least. In fact, Xiaomi is one of my sponsors! There is a real opportunity to become a branded news source for products from this technology behemoth.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

1 eCommerce potential due to all traffic for affiliate purposes. If you could start selling Xiaomi related tech products, there would be a lot of potential.

2 Make it grow as an affiliate tech blog.

3 Make it into a Xiaomi themed blog.
