Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start the business?

My name is Onur, I have an IT background with more than 10 years of experience. I created several e-commerce websites in 2018 and other successful websites, and I started Makeup Mirror in 2019 in Melbourne, Australia.

As an e-Commerce business, where are your products made?

How have you marketed the product and where are your customers originating from?

Our marketing focuses on Google Ads (80% of customers), Facebook and Instagram (20% of customers). Our customers mostly originate from across Australia, but we have a building customer base in New Zealand.

Is the asset on your listing owner-operated, how much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

Our listing is owner-operated. It takes approximately 1-2 hours a day to run this business. It can be run by just one person. All of our systems are automated, but there is potential to run from a physical location using stocked items (for faster shipping times).

What does someone need to do to continue operating the business in its current form?

Each day, they would need to review new orders and send a list of these to the supplier, as well as pay PayPal invoices to the supplier for this stock. Any stock sent straight from the new owner would require them to print labels, package these and send. They might also need to respond to customer emails about products or orders.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

A new owner would benefit from increased social media advertising (eg: Facebook & Instagram) or expanding into new social media such as TikTok, Twitter, etc. They could also shift from dropshipping to stock all products at a physical location, to speed up delivery times and allow for express shipping for all orders. They could also look at expanding the range of products available.

What has been the evolution of this asset since its launch?

When I first started, there were only one or two products available. We upgraded our product range and started marketing, and our sales have skyrocketed over the last year.

How does this business make money? What are the current revenue streams?

We achieve revenue through selling our products.

What marketing channels are most profitable for the business?

Our Google Ads are most profitable, but social media marketing is showing promise.

How does the business currently acquire customers and what is your breakdown for marketing costs?

Our customers come to us mostly from our advertising. We spend roughly $200-300 per day on marketing, but this has come down from the $1000 per day we were spending last year, as we shifted focus to our main business during this time.

How big is your current team? How many people does it take to run this business?

There are 3 people in our team, but we also manage a total of 5 businesses. So, this business could be run easily by just one person.

What’s the reason for selling your business on Flippa?

While Makeup Mirror shows promise, we cannot currently afford to give our full attention to 5 businesses. So, we decided to sell this business so that we invest more into our main businesses.
