Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your background? How did you start with this business idea?

I’m a serial entrepreneur, SEO and marketer who has dipped my toes into e commerce in the past, and built successful ecom stores for others. Once I started seeing some stores I built and websites I’ve optimized do incredibly well, I decided to “get high on my own supply.”

I started with this product because it is a winning product, and I got lucky because I started doing SEO when the competition was relatively low for this keyword. As a result, (and due to my 7 years of experience in SEO,) we achieved stellar SEO rankings relatively quickly.

How much time does it take to run the business, who else is needed on the team, and what is automated?

I spend less than 1 hour per week on this business currently. I bulk fulfil the orders through Oberlo, and I process 3-4 return/exchanges per week. A VA could do that all for less than $120/month.

What is the return on ad spend for search placements? Have you marketed on social media?

We’re doing 4X ROAS on Google Ads, and on social media we’re doing approximately 2X ROAS. 

With a bit of optimization, the social media return can certainly go higher.

This business has only been around for a few months. Why are you being so quick to sell it?

I have a full-time job doing SEO for attorneys, and if this store grows any more it will become a distraction for me. I’m also selling a couple other side gigs of mine to free up my time to go into real estate.

Can you list a few opportunities for a potential new owner to continue growing the business?

Tap existing customers. I have a huge email and text list that is untouched. I’ve severely underutilized retargeting, so they’ll wanna use that as the clicks are dirt cheap, and high-converting.
