Seller's Notes

Overview is an Asian food blog concentrating on cooking popular Asian cuisines using viral & easy to follow videos.

This food blog targets the Asian community in the United States.  I concentrated on cooking Filipino and Chinese cuisines first as these are the largest Asian communities in the US.  There are roughly 3.5 million Chinese and 2.6 million Filipinos living in the US.

This is not just another food blog out there with just pictures and recipes.  I added Tasty type videos which are short, easy to follow, and tend to go viral when shared on social media.

All cooking videos were personally created by me.  The site has gained over 28k Facebook followers in just a few months using these type of videos.

How is your business monetized?

This website has multiple stream of income so it is not totally relying on one source of revenue.  Here's a list of the monetization method for this website.

  • Google Adsense - Roughly makes $10/month.  I had a video go viral in the first few months and the site was making $73 in April and $43 in May.  The revenue for Adsense went down due to not posting new recipes and I decrease the number of Adsense ads to make space for GourmetAds.  See screenshot of revenue.
  • GourmetAds - Roughly makes around $15/month.  I've been testing this around with as many as 5 ads and popups and that is why the revenue in the first few months got up to $43.  However I took some of the ads as it became too cluttered ruining visitors experience.  See screenshot of revenue.
  • Amazon Affiliate Ads - I did not include this in the calculation for monthly revenue but the site did make commission of $4 in the month of July.  I was not aggressive with this as I only added a few ads on the bottom of the recipe page. See screenshot of revenue.
  • Youtube Ads - So far not a big money maker but if you know what you are doing, the potential is there.  The past few months it made just around $1/month. See screenshot of revenue.

Monetization that I have not pursued but already approved:

  • Ads - This site was already approved for account.  I have not added any of their ads.
  • - These are sponsored posts opportunities but I have never taken advantage.  For many food bloggers this is a big part of their income revenue.

What is included?

  • Domain:
  • Content: All site content including images and videos
  • Facebook Page: 28K Followers
  • Pinterest Account: 28 Followers with access to pin on large & active food related Pinterest boards.

Which platform does the website use?

Are you the original owner of the business?

Yes I am the original owner.  All the cooking, taking pictures, and making videos were all done by me.

Where is the site hosted and will this need to change after purchase?

Currently hosted on a VPS server and will need to be moved to your own hosting when purchased.

Why are you selling the business?

I have an Amazon FBA business that I am currently focused on. I can't keep up with all the cooking and making the videos. I love cooking and it is my passion but I just can't find the time to concentrate on this food blog.

Can the website’s revenue be accurately tracked back to the website?

Yes, revenue can be accurately tracked back to the website.

Is the website’s revenue kept separate from other business and personal accounts?

No, the revenue is not kept separate.

If necessary, do you have tax returns available to support your revenue claims?

No, I do not have tax returns available at this time.

Are you willing to provide live revenue verification?

Yes, upon request from serious buyers and/or Flippa marketplace integrity.

What are the main expenses of the business?

Website hosting.

Have you granted Google Analytics access?

Yes, I have.

What are the primary traffic sources of the site?

  • Organic
  • Social

Why do you think the site's top traffic sources are the the ones you chose above?

Organic traffic has grown naturally and it started ranking for many recipe related keywords. According to SEMrush the site ranks for almost 3k keywords.

As far as social, the videos drive a lot of traffic from Facebook. The past month, Pinterest traffic is starting to pick up without any kind of promotions.

The rest of the traffic are mostly from food submission sites such as Foodgawker, Tastespotting, Healthy Aperture, Fridgg, Foodyub, Dishfolio, and Yum Goggle.

Do you use, or have you experimented with, social media marketing?

Yes, mainly Facebook. The other social media accounts just have grown naturally but Pinterest and Youtube are big areas to focus on if you want to grow this website exponentially.

Have you done any Search Engine Optimization?

Just basic On Page SEO.  No PBN's are used.

The site currently ranks for almost 3k keywords based on SEMrush.

Do you have employees or contracts with freelancers?

No.  I do all the cooking, taking pictures, making videos, and posting on the website.

Just note that you can hire someone to cook and make the videos for you.  I belong to a large food blogger facebook group which are filled with food bloggers who you can hire to make the recipe and videos for you. I can provide this resource to the buyer.

How is the content of your website produced?

As I mentioned above, all content is produced by me. I cook what I feel like eating. Sometimes I do go to to Youtube or Buzzsumo to look for popular recipes.

I plan the video shots, prepare the ingredients, video the cooking, take photographs and then post on the website.

I then spend time sharing the post on social media and food submission sites.

Does the owner need specific skillsets in order to successfully operate the site?

Someone who loves to cook or experiment on recipes. Also preferably a knowledge of video and photography or the ability to outsource this work.

The video I just learned by myself, so I can offer some tips to the buyer on how to make the videos.

Please identify and briefly describe your main competitors

Here are some popular Asian food blog who I consider competitors:

What are the primary growth opportunities for the business going forward?

I believe has a lot of potential for growth given the care and attention it deserves. Expanding into different Asian cuisines such as Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, and Thai will provide you with tons of content ideas that will drive more traffic to the site and increase revenue.

As traffic rise, the site will be able to get approved for bigger ad networks suited for food blogs like Mediavine and Adthrive which will greatly increase your ad revenue.

Sponsored posts is a big opportunity for this website as there are lots of sponsorship opportunities for products to be featured on the recipe video or on the food photography.

Are there any geographical limitations to the potential buyer of the business?

No, there are no geographic limitations.
