Seller's Notes

This ad covers both Noodl.io and Noodlio Pay (website and payment API).

Two very established platforms in their domain, yielding a turnover of almost 100,000 USD per year without any effort. I have not touched one single bit of these websites for the last months and have nevertheless seen an organic growth. The number of transactions is increasing steadily which has boosted my revenues  and the activity on the platforms. I am selling this platform as I believe that the potential is strongly unused. Please refer to the excel file for the financials.

Noodl.io - a marketplace for app developers, as featured on Product Hunt

An online marketplace dedicated to app development. Sellers can list their app themes, templates and components and earn a living from it. Buyers can speed up their development or learn from best practices.

The site has been launched at the end of 2015 as a personal project, but it quickly gained significant traction. The number of members has currently surpassed 2200, and there are somewhere around 160 listings from 30-40 developers. The Twitter account has more than 800 followers (an important medium for app developers). As part of the inclusion, the buyer will be handed over the entire infrastructure (including Github and Firebase accounts).

Noodlio Pay - a complete payment solution with an online dashboard for merchants and API for developers

(description will be updated soon)

Noodlio Pay is an easy, straightforward solution for accepting payments on your website, in your app, or elsewhere on the web. Thanks to the REST setup, your application can immediately start making requests to the API, which validates input and charges your clients for their purchases. As we are using Stripe, all funds will immediately be transferred to your account.

Essentially, Noodlio Pay replaces your server-side, saving you the time to learn a new server language, test, validate and so on the server-side for your payments. In other words, it's hassle-free payment!

Online dashboard + API

The dashboard is an online platform where merchants can create payment link. More info coming soon.

The Noodlio Pay API simplifies the integration of payments acceptance portals in websites and apps. Its RESTful architecture allows apps to initiate instant API requests for validating input data and applying charges on purchases made on a website. The API uses Stripe to expedite the instantaneous transfer of funds to destination accounts. It sends requests in JSON or HTTP format and returns responses in JSON format.

Organic growth

Please note that without any effort over the last year, Noodlio and Noodlio Pay have been growing organically. Please review the excel file for an illustration of this growth.

Monetization methods

Monetization has not been a point of attention so far, and for that sake the website potential is unused. Nevertheless, the turnover generated by both websites has reached 100,000 USD per year. The growth in the number of transactions is also very interesting to observe (see the excel file). This spike in revenue and traffic can be mostly attributed to our active marketing efforts through Reddit and Hackernews.

Technology used

The website has been built entirely using Firebase and Angular. It connects to PayPal and Stripe to process the payments and thus to subtract a commission.

Plan for transaction and handover

After a successful transaction the handover will consist of at least the following steps:

- Handover of the .io domain
- Handover of the Firebase database (and other back-end technologies such as Heroku)
- Handover of the Github accounts
- Handover of the entire source code
- Handover of the Stripe and PayPal accounts
- Forwarding of the email adresses

Reason for selling

We are selling these websites due to time constraints (pursuing a new career path). However, I believe that the potential of both marketplaces is significant, as proved by a recent feature on Product Hunt which spiked the traffic of the website significantly.

You mentioned Heroku as being part of the production stack. Can you explain a little and mention any other languages used besides Javascript?

@oliakaoil Hi there. Yes indeed. Basically the front-end is developed in Angular/Javascript/HTML (websites Noodl.io and NoodlioPay.com). As for the backend (where the data is stored), I use Google Firebase. The payment servers are hosted as a NodeJS server and deployed using Heroku. The payment servers connect to the Stripe API, meaning that you can use their Dashboard to manage the payments (and refunds, overviews, statements, etc.). All the code is developed on a Cloud IDE, making it easily to share all the files with another user.

Does this site handle everything automatically?

@Dannymax333 Yes everything is handled automatically. You just need to handle Paypal and Stripe payments which have their own Stripe Dashboard in case someone asks for a refund (e.g. press a button to refund the customer). The site is fully automatized.

Hi Alex, very interesting listing. I have few questions:
0- Can you please explain the gross turnover number? looking at the excel sheet, in August, there were 8 transactions in the Card section with $119 in revenue but gross turnover is $1,190? I checked each item sold and the amounts add up to $119 so if you take a 10% cut, wouldn't that mean your profit is $19?
1- Your reddit account/page does not exist > https://www.reddit.com/user/noodlio and I don't see any recent marketing on reddit/hackernews to justify the jump in revenue in June/July/August. Can you please provide a video walkthrough of the stripe dashboard and traffic sources?
2. What is the heroku deployment monthly expenses for both noodlio and noodlepayment?
3. Are you also handing over social accounts such as Twitter/Fb/Hackernews ...etc?
4. Are you willing to sign a 1-year non-compete agreement?
5. Have you experimented with increasing the fees (above 10%)? Can the new owner change the fees?
6. Would you support the buyer with technical support for at least a month?

Cheers.
