What is required to keep the business operational?

Stock is held by a fulfilment company and orders are shipped directly from here. So on a day to day basis little is required.

The work required is more on the business aspects such as marketing, SEO, site management, stock purchasing etc.

Why are you selling the business?

I do not have the time required to take this business to the next level. It has so much potential but I have other commitments.

How does the business generate revenue?

Ecommerce

Are there any expenses for the business? If so, what are they?

1. Advertising - Google shopping & affiliate programme.
2. Warehousing & fulfilment.
3. Web hosting and additional app for ebay.
4. Ebay - In line with sales.  5. Stock

What marketing initiatives have been used for this business?

Google Shopping & Adwords
Facebook Ads
Affiliate Marketing
Email marketing - We will include the email database, which is significant (16k).

How can the future owner improve the business?

I have built this business on 1-2 hours work a day. With a little more time and commitment this can be taken to the next level.

The plus size clothing market is huge, and still has little competition. The UK plus size market alone is valued at over £5 billion a year - and is still hugely undercatered for.

This is a serious business opportunity, not a quick fix dropship set up.

Time is needed to reach social influencers, bloggers etc. A little work will see this snowball, and it will also help with SEO.

I have spent some time working on the technical aspect of SEO but link building efforts are required.

There has been some traction around terms such as plus size designer clothing.

Points of note -

I have included July sales (and expenses) in the June 17 figures as it has been a great month so far due to an email marketing campaign.

We managed to break our google analytics which is why there are no earlier figures before Feb this year. There was traffic beforehand but we no longer have access to the data. It has seen a steady growth to its current position.

Please identify and briefly describe your main competitors

yoursclothing.co.uk
evans.co.uk

What makes your website better than its competition?

AC Loves was launched to bring on trend fashion to women in sizes 16 to 36. Not to compromise on style, but to offer the same trends that are available in standard sizes.

There are few competitors in the plus size market considering its size - over £5bn in the UK alone. The plus size fashion community are crying out for new, relevant brands, which rival that of standard size offerings - and this is the gap which AC Loves intends to fill.

Does the business store physical inventory?

Yes

Approximately how much inventory does the business keep at any given time and is any current inventory included in the price?

£8k usually held.

Current inventory is £4k and it is included in the sale.

It is held in a fulfilment company. Yes the agreement can be transferred.

Is it necessary for the business to keep its inventory in a particular country or a state, in order to retain the current profitability? Please explain

No

How are shipments into and out of the warehouse / storage units managed?

Goods are sent directly to the warehouse, with relevant picking lists.

How many suppliers does the business use and for how long has the business used each of these suppliers?

Currently one supplier - for 6 months.

Does the business benefit from volume pricing arrangements with its suppliers?

No

Do you have written agreements in place with your suppliers?

No

How often and through which channels do you pay suppliers for purchased goods?

On presentation of invoice, via bank transfer.

What is the average lead time from the order date until customer receives the good?

2 weeks.

Explain your payment terms with your supplier(s)?

Pay on invoice.

Have you changed suppliers in the past?

No

Are you willing to sign a 3-year non-compete contract in the industry that the website operates in?

Yes, I am.

Will you provide 1-3 months of post-sale support & training, in order to ensure that the buyer is able to fully take over the business and its operations?

Yes

What are the primary growth opportunities for the business going forward?

AC Loves was launched to bring on trend fashion to women in sizes 16 to 36. Not to compromise on style, but to offer the same trends that are available in standard sizes.

The plus size market is worth in excess of £5bn in the UK alone. And it is still hugely under-catered for, with just a handful of major players. There is serious potential to take this business to the next level for the right buyer.

The groundwork has been done, with an own brand collection established, and a significant audience to market to. It requires an investment of time to build up a following on social media and blogs, plus someone with a keen eye for the latest trends.

Are there any geographical limitations to the potential buyer of the business?

No, there are no geographic limitations.

Hi ,Feb and march 17 show big losses yet your orders are stable, was this due to advertising or other outside costs not listed.

@allotmenteerist

The increased cost in this period is stock purchase. This was the SS17 collection. Traditionally you will purchase spring/summer collection and an Autumn/winter collection - which you then sell over the following period. Although, many fashion brands now just replenish on an ongoing basis so you can choose to do this should you wish.

Hi,
Are you able to do a profit and loss using Cost Of Goods Sold rather than including your investment in stock? It's difficult to tell how much profit you're making per month if you're including stock purchases. Thanks

What is the $177 subscription costs and office expenses for the last 3 months?

Noavatar

Sun, 13 Aug 2017 19:51:35 AEST

@Bubsy The $177 is warehousing costs for the stock (with the fulfilment company). It is charged based on actual quantity of stock being held so varies a little. We only put the stock into fulfilment in April. Prior to then we held it at home.
