Why I started KoKo Paws:

Earlier this year, I wanted to play around with ecommerce and I decided to start a general store (it was called Babymoonme for the first 2 weeks...I know, it's a weird name) and I stumbled onto this pet niche by just randomly browsing on Aliexpress. The pet products instantly became my best selling products and I decided to brand the site properly, with a logo, better domain name etc. 

How I'm driving customers to my store:

I have a 2 channels of traffic, Facebook / Instagram ads and Instagram organic traffic. 

I found a video of a cat running along the beach with one of my costumes on and I thought it would be cute if I used the same video to promote my products. 

Instagram Ads is so far my best channel, followed by Facebook Desktop ads. 

My largest markets are California, NY and Canada.

Since March, I've been building up my website, Instagram account to over 2500 followers (link below) and Facebook Page.

Technology Used 

I use Oberlo (29/mo) to import products and place orders.

I use Grum to schedule my Instagram posts, so I don't need to worry about content everyday, just work on it once a week. 

I have a VA working 2-3 hrs a week, to update social media content and update my orders on excel. She uses Canva to design (free) with my given templates 

I will introduce you to my supplier, whom I constantly keep in touch through Skype - it's important to be in contact with your supplier, so if anything happens, it can be resolved much faster. 

How I Would Transfer the Ownership Over 

I know, you want to start working on KoKo Paws ASAP after you win, so this is what I'll do. I'll give you access to my Shopify, transfer the domain over, give you my Instagram account and my Facebook account. 

Reason for Selling 

My main job as a digital marketing consultant is picking up, with a new client starting soon and I need to free up time to focus on them. I don't have enough time to brand this site properly and utalitse the highly valuable name KoKo Paws to its max. 

As of today, 04/07/17, I have made 252 orders, with $5,253.28 in sales. However, I'm still at -$605 due to overspending on Facebook ads.

How much are you currently spending a month on marketing? Did you reinvest all your profit back in to marketing? Thats why you are at a loss?

@mbalsh I did reinvest the profits back into the business, with adspend costs of : $700, $230 $1500 and $1500 from March to June. The reason why I was at a loss, was because I had too many ads that just drained money, and I didn't cut them out fast enough, eg, I would test out my ad for Australia, and set the budget to $15 a day, I would let the ad run for 3-4 days and THEN cut it, the problem with that is that I've spent $60 just to test the market, and it may or may not get sales. If you were to run this store in the long term, strategies such as content marketing, SEO, organic community building (I already have a decent IG account, @koko.paws built up if you want to go that route) would be suitable. You can pretty do ANYTHING in the pet niche, with such a brandable name: KoKo Paws.
