Seller's Notes

This site was started just 12 months ago and over this period of time we have built a robust website and social media following.

This site is monetized through eCommerce dropshipping which means you'll never have to handle inventory or logistics in terms of actually delivering the product. The partners that we work with print and ship all products within 3 days, averaging 7-10 days from order to delivery within the US (another week for international sales). We find this method extremely effective as it means we can focus almost entirely on the marketing side of things.

This site was built using Shopify while being hosted by GoDaddy. All payments are done through PayPal.

Assets included as part of the sale:

  • Domain Name
  • Social Media Accounts:

    Facebook: 78k+ Likes
    Instagram: 14K+ Followers

Email List: 3200+ buyers, 6000+ subscribers

    Customer Data:
All customer data on 7,000+ orders last year alone

All work is done by the owner, customer support staff and freelance graphic designers (for content and prints for tees + accessories). The freelance graphic designers are happy to continue working with the new owners, but the new owners would either need to handle the customer service personally or find a new agent to handle this.

I'm selling the site because I'm now focusing on other internet marketing ventures.

Why are the costs so high?

jtan7th ( new )
Wed, 05 Jul 2017 13:08:41 AEST

@Mauriceblueford The gross margins are actually pretty good -- around 60% but the biggest challenge for me is advertising. If you're a skilled advertiser, then that could dramatically lower the costs and you could earn a lot more as a result.

Hi, I noticed a lot of quality complaints. Who do you use for your print on demand?

WHy are the revenues so inconsistent? Who does your thirst fulfillment?

jtan7th ( new )
Thu, 06 Jul 2017 14:25:28 AEST

@rouiskim I use two partners to do fulfillment CustomCat and Teelaunch. I was actively managing the site up until end of January when personal issues came up and I couldn't devote the attention anymore. That's why the revenue dropped off -- not because there was an issue with the site, rather it was because I didn't have time to actively manage the advertising that is needed for the brand to make sales.

@Daisyduke Like any site we do have some complaints, but I don't think it's too many as you can see from here:

We use CustomCat and Teelaunch and generally customers are pretty happy with what they get.

@Guesewho All via Facebook organic and paid advertising as per the P and L attached.

How do you handle returns? Also, you mentioned customer support staff - were these contractors or freelancers?

@Greatsites2 All the designs are owned by I'd Hike That and would be included in the sale.

@Guesewho I advertised exclusively via Facebook and Instagram and that pretty much made up all of my advertising costs as you can see on the P and L -- in total is around $55k+

@Dannog I have a few Australian buyers, but 95%+ are US based. My two suppliers are from US and they dropship the shirts so it made sense to focus my efforts on US based customers. With that said, there were still quite a few Australian buyers who paid the international shipping fees to get the shirts shipped out there!

@acd24442 I unfortunately had to move to China last minute and so had to drop Facebook advertising since I couldn't get access. I was hoping to move back to Hong Kong, but now since I'm permanently based on China I'm looking to sell this store.

with the right advertising + budget, it'll go right back up.

@eholly92 Hi there, my return policy is just to keep the customer happy and refund or send a new item whenever they're unhappy. Generally if there's a product defect, my suppliers are happy to send a new one FOC. Customer support were freelancers, but you'll have to find a new one as the current one doesn't want to change employers.

@w2pac12345 I had a freelance designer who did all the work and can pass the contact information as part of any transaction.

Would you be willing to discuss a buy it now price, or disclose the reserve price?

What are the subscription costs? They seem to fluctuate heavily.. what is the cause?

It also looks like you ran ads the last 4 months.. and specifically April you spent a good amount with little return. Any reason why your beginning months performed better than latter?

merleob ( new )

Are the images of the shirts done by you or the company who makes them- they look nice and just trying to figure out if new designs are created who takes the pics

What are the costs from your supplier? What is the BIN price?

jtan7th ( new )
Thu, 20 Jul 2017 11:43:02 AEST

@merleob I had a freelancer do all the stuff and I'd be happy to introduce her to the buyer if they want to continue the look!

jtan7th ( new )
Thu, 20 Jul 2017 11:43:31 AEST

@Olegko The fluctuation are from various shopify apps that I tested and discarded as well as a couple of email options

jtan7th ( new )
Thu, 20 Jul 2017 11:44:31 AEST

@Olegko I had to stop running ads actively because I moved to China -- that's the major reason why I'm looking to sell the store. I left some small retargeting ads on and tried to build a bigger subscriber list for a while, but have turned most ads except the most successful ads off now.

I am curious of this drop shipping operation, are these services or businesses that you subscribe to or something you manually process like a purchase on amazon?

jtan7th ( new )
Sat, 22 Jul 2017 17:36:07 AEST

@Toon-c Hey man I just checked -- if you type it should work. Issue happens when you don't type the "www." part. Let me kwno if that resolves the issue!

jtan7th ( new )
Sat, 22 Jul 2017 17:36:40 AEST

@rogerfleenor I basically "subscribe" to them so that every time an order comes in, everything gets automatically fulfilled.
