This app lets users easily create photo grids with no hassle and super quick. We have created the app to be as simple and quick to use, in order to attract more users. In fact using the app is as easy as 3 steps below:

Step 1: upload photo

Step 2: choose grid option (1x3, 2x3 or 3x3)

Step 3: share on Instagram

App Highlights:

I am selling this app to focus on my core business (fitness only). I will need an influx of cash to hire contract work for a fitness platform. If this app did not get sold, then I’m fine with it staying in my portfolio because it provides steady monthly income.



The app is native iOS and it's written in Swift. The code is extremely clean and well commented for someone else to update it.



We spend 0 time and 0$ a week on the app, it runs on its own. Only time spent was on the initial release and update (ability to save photos to a camera roll). It doesn't require a back end, therefore there are no server costs. We have never spent any money on ads therefore all of the app’s growth has been organic.



The app is free to download, but we have IAP purchases. The user can pay for:

1. Ability to unlock one grid ($1.99)

2. Unlock unlimited grids ($2.99)

3. Ability to save grids to camera roll ($0.99)



We have not spent any effort on this. We are really good at coming up with US App Store keywords (which we rank well in) and all of the growth has been organic.

The app presents a lot of ways on how to improve its already lucrative income:

  • Keyword optimization and localization: We are great at App Store optimization, but only for the US App Store. None of the other countries have localized keywords, which is a huge opportunity for acquiring customers from non english speaking countries.
  • Platform expansion: All of my apps are only on iPhone. If you have experience making Android apps, this is a good opportunity to apply the same idea and design. This alone can double the income of the app, as this time there’ll be two platforms in which incomes will be coming from. 
  • Marketing: We have achieved all of our sales and growth with $0 in marketing. Search ads could do really well. In addition, marketing on Instagram makes sense, as this is a product for people that use Instagram. We haven't tried to figure out a customer acquisition funnel, as most of our effort has been on fitness apps and creating a fitness platform. If the new owner is willing to invest some time and effort in marketing this app, surely the app’s active users will increase significantly leading to more income.

  • Ads: We have never run any ads on this app and it still resulted to a steady monthly income as published and verified in Flippa, if the new owner will integrate ads in this app then it will drastically increase the app’s revenue as it’s another monetization stream.
  • Instagram Growth: We are seeing a steady increase of newly acquired users of this app. The niche we are targeting is viral on its own, as another potential user will inevitably see this grid on an Instagram account and would want to make one as well. Additionally, the new owner can implement a free sample of what the app can do such as, “One free grid (with a Pic Split Post watermark)”, in order to acquire more users.



Perfect for someone looking to acquire a cash generating asset. Instagram is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Does this app require the Instagram API, or depend on any other APIs? Does it post automatically to Instagram or does user create the photos then open the Instagram app to post?

@smllc It doesn't require Instagram API or any others, which is big, as this is always changing and would require constant updates.

After the user selects the grid --> they can tap on the photo --> this prompts up the share sheet and ability to copy it to Instagram --> This pastes the correct photo on IG automatically. Done through Apple OS, not Instagram API

A couple of things to address, since i'm getting private messages and others can benefit from these answers.

1. I'm not interested in disclosing the BIN. Bid what it's worth to you :) Obviously if an app is making $1k with ZERO overhead, I am not going to sell the app at a ridiculously low multiple.

2. Yes we have competitors. There are zero unique apps left in the App Store, without any replicas.

What helps us succeed / stand apart:
A. Strong keyword ranking --> we were one of the first to use these keywords and do really well at them. This helps us get a lot of downloads for free every month.
B. Easy experience --> someone downloads the app and it takes them straight to making a grid. No ads or other BS.
C. Clever up charge --> IAP is prompted on the last step of the grid. By that point, the user has already committed and posted x photos on Instagram. Some apps ask for payment right away and this leads to lower conversions.

All the three above feed in the funnel.

We drive lots of DL (b/c of A). These users might download a couple of free apps at once. But since we have done a good job at B & C, out $ per DL is very good.

3. Instagram is huge and will keep growing. Initially profile grids were for super early adapters, but we are seeing more and more people use them. This trend definitely helps the app out, especially one that ranks well organically.

1. The "Profit" shown in listing and screenshots is before Apple takes 30%, correct?
2. What exactly does the IAP buy for the user? Are they able to use the app without the IAP? (watermark etc)
3. Could you share any specific searches you rank highly for?

1. Correct!

2. The user has three options for IAP
A) Buy one grid for their profile (one time use)
B) Buy unlimited grids (non consumable)
C) Ability to save grids to their camera roll (if they want to post later)

They are not able to use the app without IAP. Watermark would be an interesting experiment and tradeoff between IAP conversion and user growth.

3. Unfortunately I can't, as our valuable keywords are not 100% obvious.

@Airkat Correct! Revenues seem to have stabilized at ~$1k a month (May, June & July). We think it is very possible to grow to ~$2-$3k a month, but obviously it requires a some time and money.

@seanseven7 The transfer process is seamless through Apple. I go the to app, hit transfer, enter your account ID & the app is there ~30 minutes later.
