1.5 year old subscription-based website with established subscribers. The subscription is a quarterly professional hair care delivery. Each quarter is a different set of products that can include any variety of wet line hair care products as well as tools and the latest and greatest from the hair care industry. We are a unique company in the way that there is no other subscription company out there specializing in professional hair care.

We rely only on subscribers from income and we have been marketing our company to hair care brands as a way for them to market their products to customers in a new way and we market the subscription to consumers who enjoy other subscriptions such as Stitch Fix, Ipsy, etc. 

We utilize Cratejoy platform for all our back end work, analytics, mailings, etc. We have grown our Instagram to over 550 subscriber in the past year and we have blogger influensters that we utilize for advertising. 

We will provide 1-3 months of post-sale support/training so that the buyer can fully take over. In addition, Cratejoy is incredible at providing support as needed whenever.

Mane Crate was started because of requests from many salon clientele of the owner. Clients wanted a subscription box like their Birchbox, etc. that would deliver them new hair care products regularly. Although Mane Crate has done well in its time, the owner wants to focus on family and her full-time job that she has been maintaining alongside the startup of a new business.

Couple questions. What happened between November and April to be at a negative loss? Do you have a good relationship with suppliers? How many subscribers do you currently have?

@mbalsh great question! We shut down in November for a period so that we could transition everything from a monthly subscription to a quarterly subscription, which has worked so much better for this business.
We have several suppliers, mostly major brands in the professional hair care industry along with a few mom and pop brands that we have a working relationship with.
Currently we have 44 subscribers in our client base.

@mbalsh We absolutely have a P&L available to our buyer. We don't typically purchase products from suppliers but if we do, it is at a very deeply discounted wholesale price so there is very little overhead cost if you keep our profile of suppliers that we have a great relationship with. I am selling because it is growing faster than I am able to keep up with on my own and would love to see it grow and flourish because it is an innovative and unique business within the subscription box category.
