Real Races, coin bets. This game has been hand code as a startup, we raised some money and coded this for Gambling, and we never raised money to adveritise it. Our new investor wants us to use the code in stocks instead so we are selling this to fund advertising in our new stock app.
This has been developed over years with a great deal of money spent.
Mobile and desktop app: luckybets.com.au
Here is my deck that i raised the money on luckybets.pdf and we coded a beautiful Angular/Symphony app, that is in phonegap fro android and ios. It works on desktop and on mobile.
Here is what we pitched:
Luckybets is a world-first mobile app, promising to reinvigorate Australia’s horse racing industry and introduce the virtual thrill of a ‘day at the races’ to a new field of tech-savvy gamers.
The innovative betting app, Luckybets, is available for free on iPhones, Androids and the web, enabling sports-loving, have-a-go Australians to have a flutter on thousands of real horse, harness and greyhound races across Australia with pretend money, listen to podcasts, then learn how to pick a horse with a new slider system where a field is ranked based on the theory of the user, and then bet for real.
Luckybets provides the horse racing form guide in a unique way; allowing users to learn about the form guide all while playing a game. And the more users play, the more they learn about the form guide, how to rank the horses based on a range of criteria, and play a real game betting on real horse races. Most importantly though, through the simple act of pressing a button, users can bet on the races, immediately monetising the luckybets app, website and mobile website.
Existing bookmakers spend hundreds of dollars to get one person to sign up to an online account, however fail because the individuals targeted are requested to immediately input their credit card details. This experience for an individual who has never bet before, handing over their credit card details is something they need time to feel comfortable with, especially if they are not confident about placing a bet.
Gambling in Australia
Gambling is a popular and prevalent entertainment and leisure activity among Australians. Over 80% of Australian adults engage in gambling of some kind, which is the highest rate of gambling in the world. This number includes some 4% of the adult population who play the pokies once a week, accounting for some 62% of locals’ annual gambling spends.
Gambling in Australia provides significant social and economic benefits to the community in terms of entertainment, employment, taxation revenue and funding for social and sporting infrastructure and community organisations.
According to 2014 statistics Tabcorp Limited offers totalisator and fixed odds betting on racing and sporting events in approximately 2,800 TAB retail outlets in agencies, hotels, clubs, as well as on-course in Victoria and New South Wales, and via internet, mobile devices, phone and pay TV. Sky Racing also owned by Tabcorp, is available in approximately 2.6 million homes and 5,400 commercial outlets in Australia, covering 90,000 races per annum.
The growing popularity of gambling is in no small part due to the liberalisation of gambling that has been going on since the 1990’s. That in turn has created tremendous growth in the gaming industry, with almost $20 billion dollars now spent by Australians on this pursuit each year.
Games Australians Play
Approximately 600,000 Australians, or 4% of the adult population, play slot machines (better known as “Pokies”) once a week. “Scratchies” and lotteries are also highly popular amongst the locals. Next in terms of popularity are table games like roulette and blackjack, wagering, and increasingly, online gambling, however nearly 15% of the market is spent on wagering.
While Australia is the 53rd largest in terms of population, it is the country with the absolute highest number of gaming machines with one fifth of the world’s supply. In fact, there are 100,000 poker machines in the state of New South Wales alone.
