You mentioned that you had inserted code on your website to change the way Google Analytics interpreted data, what was the purpose of this?
I worked with a third party website for Adsense called Ezoic, and what I noticed is, that they read the bounce rate completely differently than GA, so I quizzed them on this and then I investigated online, what I found was that it was unrealistic how GA reads bounce rate so I eventually sought out someone who could provide me with the ability so that GA interprets the bounce rate more like Ezoic, which made a lot more sense and produced numbers the better reflected the performance and quality of the website.
Why was this removed prior to sale?
I removed the code prior to sale because people are generally more familiar with how Google classically reads bounce rates and therefore i didn't want to leave them with any confusion.
Has the change impacted any other metrics other than bounce rate or session duration?
No, other metrics have stayed the same. The only metrics which have been impacted are bounce rate and session duration. Bounce rate has increased from around 10% to around 37% and session duration has gone from around 18:00 to around 5:00.
