Imgpile is a very popular image hosting site/service. Imgpile was established in February 2016 as a personal image hosting website when imgur started blocking some of my personal forums for breaching their TOS as it fell under the business usage.
The idea behind the site was to use it only for personal use as I was selling quite a lot of stuff on eBay and using my popular forum to attract some customers.
I would be uploading the images onto Imgpile - using the script to resize the images easily, and then hotlinking them across... I know there were other services available at the time - such as photobucket and postimage, but I wanted something for myself - something on the side that would potentially grow big some day.
A few months later, it started to gain immense popularity. People liked the fact that imgpile was free to use, and it offered a hotlinking service.

No, to my knowledge my site has never received any search engine penalties.

The 78% traffic is from referral website because imgpile is an image hosting website which allow users to share link to their images directly on message boards, or any other forum/social media/community. There are few active users on the website who use the service to link the screenshot/sample images on torrent websites such as thepiratebay.
It is true that majority of the traffic is coming from the torrent websites, however, if you look closely, there are various other websites and community which are sending traffic to us. I do not pay for these traffic, it is user generated. Users post links to the images on these websites, and people visit it to see the hosted images. If hotlinked images generated traffic, the website would see 3-5X more traffic.

The content on the website is user generated. i.e. site owner has to concentrate on improving the features and value-set offered to the users in order to stay up with the market trend. It is a service platform, where users generate the content for you and in return you provide the image hosting service to them.
The website can be improved by developing a browser extension for easy screenshot uploads, forum/script integrations (phpbb, xenforo etc.) and mobile apps to have a good grip on the market to encourage the mouth-to-mouth advertisement.
It appears some of the content hosted on imgpile is adult themed, and this is against AdSense TOS. Are you doing anything to mitigate AdSense ads being shown on areas of the site with adult content?
Yes, indeed. There is a very nice mechanism in place which allows the site owners to comply with Google Adsense terms and conditions, while still allowing the adult content on the website. Site owners can mark any images as NSFW, which in turn hides that image from public listing and remove Google Adsense ads, or any other non-NSFW ads you are using.
The images which are marked as NSFW can also be monetized with alternative banner ads that allow NSFW contents.Additionally, users can also mark their images as NSFW in the upload form. This is where things gets little tricky, because site owner must go through all the images uploaded at the end of week to mark them appropriately if users missed/forgot to do so.
It can be somewhat fixed by restricting only registered users to upload images. However, it will be less ideal because people are looking for best alternative to the big image hosting companies due to their restrictive nature, and they'd have one less reason for them to choose you.

@pcnds I don't know why Flippa added "Google Search Applicances" It has nothing to do with Google services. I think they picked it up randomly because we do not broadcast the script it is based on.
However, if you're curious. It is built with Chevereto image hosting script. I am selling the community and userbase, not the script. Yes, anyone can build the similar website, but if you invest a little money, you can turn it into an unique interface. It is easy and doable. I didn't have time, otherwise I would have presented a much better and unique website.
Once again. I never thought I will sell this website because I got a perfect domain name (which should've been sold separately), and I wanted to turn it into a brand. But, unfortunately, I don't have funds and time required to do so. When I started the website, I was determined that I will focus on improving it over time. But, life had other plans.
@pcnds Traffic relies on the number of links shared on various communities, such as, reddit, voat, forums, and some torrent websites. As it turns out, it always drops during the first few months of the year.
I have no idea why it dropped, because I do not use any paid advertisements, except Google Adwords, every 2-3 months. My Google Adwords budget never exceeded $30. I will be providing the keywords I used on Adwords to get good engagement and better exposure at lower price if you win this auction.

@coredump It is very rare. It was much higher at the beginning, since I was not moderating the content.
However, once you start moderating the contents on the website, either weekly, or daily. You'll never be hit by Adsense policy violation alert. There is a mechanism in place which allow the site admins to flag NSFW content, which removes the adsense ads from that image, and image is remove from the public listing. You can also add alternate banner ad other than Adsense, which will only turn up on the NSFW images.
So if your are not selling the script, your are not selling a fully functional site, is this correct?

Adsense revenue is low because more and more users have started using Adblockers. Current CTR and impression RPM is low, which is expected in march and April of every year. It has always been like this for my websites for some reason. It will increase from next month. Additioanlly, I have stopped my Google Adwords campaign this month, so I am not getting much traffic from Reddit, which is the major source of income and quality traffic. Yes, it is Adsense TOS.
There is a mechanism to remove adsense ads from images by moderating them manually and flagging each one of them from the list. However, Adsense strictly mentioned that Pornography is not allowed site-wide.

How often do you find porn is uploaded? Also other illegal content, gore, child abuse, terror etc?
People do upload pornographic images even when it has been explicitly instructed on the homepage. However, I have never encountered child abuse so far. There were some illegal content, gore, transgender, but I have either flagged them as NSFW, or removed them al together.
These images do surface occasionally, but if you put 10-15 minutes daily, or an hour weekly, you can moderate the content without much hassle.
