Seller's Notes

I have been running this business and the website itself for 6 months. I wasn't focusing on the great sales - the idea of the project was to prove the fact that the website can make money and it can be a successful business.

The site has a good traffic and a pretty nice conversion rate - at the moment there are round 6500 visitors a months. We were using the SEO promotion to bring some traffic in the past, but for the last 3 months there was no SEO done and the traffic is still growing. It's been several weeks since I've stopped taking care of the site, and it still gets the orders from people (please see the December orders).

At the moment I have no physical abilty to continue running the business. Besides, I am into the web  and software developing, so there is really no time for the furniture.

For the new owner I will provide 3 months of free technical support as well as the SEO promotion - if more traffic is need as well as more conversions. Also I am willing to provide the admin acccess to the website, so everything can be checked and verified.

What makes your website better than its competition?

The site has a set of traffic-generating top keywords that bring all the traffic. We are better optimized than most of our competitors, but it can be better in terms of traffic, I mean - so there's a lot of room for development.

What are the primary growth opportunities for the business going forward?

Well, the furniture market of UAE is huge and is all for taking. Furnitureindubai.com has the catchy name anybody can memorize in no time - so it gives this great advantage over the other stores. A new owner can add other ways of promotion, monetization (For example souq.com affiliate program).

What are the site's top traffic sources?

The site is very well optimized externally, it has 1660 Top 10 keywords in Google search.

Is this a dropshipping business or do you warehouse stock and ship per order?

@irvinrod I was running it for 6 months (June-November), I was not operating the business in December for my contract expired and I left the UAE. As you can see the orders are still comming. The average costs would be 6-7k USD.

Would the buyer need to be a UAE resident?

@Bastiaan Not at all. I am not a UAE resident and I was successfully running it for 6 months.

What is the process of operating the site? Is the supplier local or international and how much time it takes to ship?

Noavatar

@Safiline It doesn't take a lot of effort to operate the site - you just need to be there to respond to every order placed. I was working with the local suppplier located in Dubai (IKEA). We did our best to make sure very order was delivered the same day, next day tops.

@kyleolson - how did you do this? "I was working with the local suppplier located in Dubai (IKEA). We did our best to make sure very order was delivered the same day, next day tops."

Were you directly working with folks from Idea on phone? Did ikea directly deliver them to customers?

@nicetry123 once there was an order placed on the website I checked with IKEA if that particular item was available, after that I sent the delivery guys to pick it up and then they took it to the customer. IKEA did not get involved in the delivery process. Most of the time I used the phone for communication.

Where does the margin come from? Your revenue and profit number suggest a margin around 40-50%. But when comparing prices on your site with Ikea Dubai prices, I mainly find similar prices - sometimes IKEA cheaper. How does that work? Thanks.

@Bastiaan I was buying 40-60 furniture items from IKEA every month for half a year - they agreed to give me discounts for my purchases. At the same time they didn't have any delivery expenses since my guys did all the pick-ups.

Considering you need to liase with ikea, hire your own drivers and do rigorous follow up don't you think that' important information to put in the description? It seems there is ALOT about this that you're not telling us. Shukran!

Hi,

First off nice name and good niche as the city has a constant xpat flow which keeps the market going. But I have some questions:

1. What ecommerce platform is the site running on?
2. Since the UAE requires a national to register/sponsor an LLC and I suppose you are the sole owner and manager of the business, may I conclude this is running off the books? If so could you inform us on the "taxes and interest" expenses in your PnL - operation costs?
3. What is the hourly cost per worker from the Manpower agency? Do they invoice each workday?
4. Your PnL states 1200$ as a constant salary cost, is this the agency cost for delivery ? If yes why is it capped to 1200 when your deliveries have hiked since site launch? If this is not the delivery cost from Manpower, please update your PnL with exact monthly salary cost.
5. Are any of the business's contacts (Ikea contact, Manpower) Arabs? Please specify as I'm Arab myself, have worked with them and unfortunately from past life experiences they do lack the work discipline and timeliness I would expect to run a business like this, as I am outside of the UAE and new owner would be 100% dependent on their professionalism to make things work.

Please pm me the reserve and your skype as I'm interested but need more info before placing a bid.

Regards,

@amandabloom If you open your eyes and take a look at the P&L that is attached you will see all the expenses, including the truck rent, delivery guys ect. Please read the info before making that kind of comment.

I see multiple hidden footer links pointing to this website.

1) Where were those brought from?
2) Are they permanent link or subscription based?

@ViralBlogTips We have done the SEO for the website. The links were placed on a private network of websites. Those are permanent links. Thanks.
