FAQ

Google Analytics

We integrated a new Google Analytics account so that's why it only shows data from the past 2-3 months

Why am I selling?

Time, i just don't have it as I'm currently running 19 other profitable websites.

What is Google News?

Google News is a computer-generated news site that aggregates headlines from news sources worldwide, groups similar stories together and displays them according to each reader's personalized interests. Traditionally, news readers first pick a publication and then look for headlines that interest them.

It's hard to become a Google News Approved publisher, but once you're in, you can generate a lot of traffic.

How does this website generates revenue?

The revenue is twofold, Google Adsense and guest blogging. The principle is simple, every news article you post gets published on Google News.

Besides that, the news articles rank in total for more than 9300 keywords in Google Organic Search, with more than 80 of them on Google page #1

How do you get so many articles?

You hire writers for you with a cheap business model. Usually freelancer writers ask 4-5$ for a news article of 500 words. We got freelancers writing for us 15 articles for only 5$ per week.

How? You hire them on Upwork or Freelancer or any other online platform and you guarantee them 5* feedback if they decide to write for you for 3 months, delivering every week up to 15 unique quality articles.

The 5* feedback is more valuable to them as they need to build there online reputation on those platforms ( especially new writers). In this way, you only pay 0.33$/ article, you get good articles and they get good feedback.

This is a profitable business model as you make sure that the content is unique ( Copyscape test) , at least 400 words long and SEO optimized.

Our plan was to hire 20 freelancers writing up to 300 articles /week for 100$ but we don't just have time to manage it.

How does Google News rank your articles?

Google News is a automated algorithm which scans your articles and then decides if they are very good, or very bad. Several criteria are used such as , recent news, unique content, length of the article, etc...

Articles that go viral. How?

Attached you can find an screenshot of an article posted by one of my writers about 'Real Power Batteries'. This article went viral and was read more than 1300 times in a single day. You can see the Google Analytics screenshot on how many people where reading it at the same time. We had several articles going viral.

Social media

We use a plugin called 'SNAP', social network automated posting'. This plugin posts every new article automatically to our social media channels such as Google+, Pinterest, Flipboard, Stumbleupon, Medium, etc...

This geneates more traffic.

Revenue Potential

Other Ad networks ( Adlinks, content media, Taboola). Didn't try them before but you can add them together with Google Adsense.

Currently, the website already ranks for a lot of keywords in Google, ranging from Expendables 4 ( Google page 1) to Portal 3, Half-life, Brynn Rumfallo, etc...

Writing more content about these keywords will increase organic search.Besides that, the more articles you write, the more visitors you will get from Google News.

We have frequent request for Guest Blogging too, they pay us 20$ for every articles, where they can use backlinks.

Summary

Currently, the website is in 100% passive mode, only generating revenue from organic search as we stopped all contracts with our writers, as we don't have time to manage it.

Reserve

I've put the reserve low at 1500$.

Hosting costs

Everything on Godaddy, paying around 8$ shared hosting package

The screenshots show you the SEMrush Keywords ranking, articles that go viral and people asking for guest blogging.

are you still in contact with your old writers?

Yes, they are happy to keep on contributing in the future.
Finding writers is not that hard actually, on Upwork you find thousands of writers who need to build their reputation. The only way they can do this is to get 5* feedback from companies and clients.

As we provide that feedback, they are happy to write up to 15 articles per week for only 5$.
We did have a strict application process, as all writers needed to be 100% native english and experience in writing SEO optimized articles.

What is the reason behind major drop in earning.

Could you please provide the traffic stats of last six months?

The biggest reason in drop in earnings is that we stopped all contracts with our writers due to lack of timemanagement. At some point we were contributing 40-50 news articles per day, which were all published in Google News. This got us traffic of 2000 unique visitors per day.

Currently, the 10.000 unique visitors per month is all passive traffic, which comes from the Organic search and the high ranking keywords

Hi everyone, I uploaded a full overview of all keywords (9300) which are ranked on positions 1-100 in Google., together with the links and , average volume, etc...

You will notice that there are some interesting high volume keywords in there such as Pokemon Z, Brynn Rumfallo, sebastian rulli, cress williams, NCIS, etc...
Focusing SEO on these keywords should generate a lot of more traffic in you can move them up in Google. Writing relevant content about this topics is the easiest way to do this.

Regards,

Thomas

Hi, yes, we use the Yoast News Plugin ( https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/news-seo/).
This is standard installed on the website.

This plugin allows for writers to select multiple keywords, official sources, standout tags, which kind of articles it is ( blog, press release, opinion, etc..)

Some of our writers just published without indicating what kind of article it was, so it's automatically published as press release, but you can change this ofcourse.

Since the auction will close in 3 days, I'm only accepting offers from people who actually already bought/sold websites on Flippa so I will be refusing new buyers from now on.

Hi,

There are indeed still some internal links from advertisers, guest blogs who look a bit spammy. They paid for those links so the new owner can always decide to remove them ofcourse

thomas

Hi everyone, I uploaded 2 new recent screenshots. One from GA and the other one from Semrush.
You'll notice that the current traffic is around 10k-13k unique visitors per month, all passive based on organic search. This is without Google News ofcourse.

The 2nd screenshot is the latest keyword update of some high-volume keywords , you will notice a big increase for some important keywords who should be able to rank on page 1 soon.

Regards,

THomas
