Seller's Notes

What do you get?

  1. WordPress website including 2 themes, plugins listed below, and the content on the site (posts, pages, and associated media files).
  2. GPLCode.com domain
  3. An awesome opportunity to monetize a great domain!

Why Am I Selling?

I was a Senior Developer at WooThemes.com for 6 years, and since our recent acquisition by Automattic our Conflict of Interest policy has changed. What this means is that I can no longer pursue side projects such as this.

History

GPLCode.com has had Google Analytics and JetPack Stats running since its launch in March 2015 and was intended to be a showcase of software projects using the GPL and its variations.

What is the GPL?

The GPL is the license for many popular software products such as WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.

Monetization Options

I had planned on implementing a newsletter and focusing on affiliate programs such as WPEngine, Envato, and Creative Market, within the WordPress space as the GPL is the most prominent license in that ecosystem, as well as creating a spin off/lead into another domain of mine gplmarketplace.com (soon to be up for sale in a separate Flippa auction) which would sell code based on the GPL.

Tech Stack

GPLCode.com currently has 6 published posts, as well as 4 pages.  The site runs on top of WordPress as a subsite of a larger multisite system, and uses the Galleria child theme for StoreFront by WooThemes, as well as the following plugins:

  • Akismet

  • Google Analytics Dashboard for WP

  • Homepage Control

  • JetPack by WordPress.com (you need your own WordPress.com account for this)

  • StoreFront Footer Bar

  • WordPress SEO

Notes: No support licenses are included for any of the themes or plugins.

Handover after Conclusion of Sale

After the sale has concluded, I would assist you in moving the site off of my multisite setup onto a standalone WordPress installation on your server. This would include exporting of the content and setup of the plugins and theme so the site would be exactly as it currently is.

As far as analytics data being transferred, it is currently setup as a property on my account, so you would need to create a new Account on your side for this.

Who should buy?

Ideally someone who has an interest in the WordPress ecosystem, as they would have an understanding of the GPL, but anyone who wants visibility in the GPL space would benefit from this domain. It has so much potentially and I'm sad to see it go.
