Seller's Notes

Excellent investment: Premium Domain For Sale -  WATCH.IO

The reason .io domains are so valuable is because companies that use .io domains are known as being great at what they do.  This blog post explains it well:

"These new .io sites are almost artisanal in nature - small, well crafted and functional. It's like a TLD for techies with taste."

They are also short, sound good, and .io domains perform well in Google's search results. The reason for this is because they've been added to the geotargetable domains list.

Check out this beautiful trend and growth of popularity of .io domains.

Microsoft bought for $24,600Elasticsearch just bought for $30,000, and,,, and recently sold for $10k+.

A lot of the tech startups that use .io domains are now very successful businesses, further reinforcing the idea that companies that use .io domains are "in the know" and part of the sophisticated tech crowd.

Check out just some of these examples:

But it's not only startups that use .io domains. Google, Microsoft and Yahoo are also buying .io domains.

Microsoft snapped up for $24,600Google owns Coupons.ioYahoo owns, and Disney owns,  amongst others.

Even the US government is happy to use .io domains

Blog posts have been written on the new-found popularity of .io domains. Such as this post: The Rise of .io Domain Names for APIs.

Wikipedia also notes: ".io domains are popular with new startup companies."

The term "watch" has nearly 3.5 BILLION search results in Google, and of course "WATCH I/O" is extremely brandable.  WATCH is a great specific keyword, and yet is general enough to be used for a lot of different things.   Whether used as a noun like "smart watch," or as a verb as in "watch streaming tv," this domain is one of a kind.  And this keyword is perfect for the .io TLD because it is a TLD for tech.

WATCH.IO is simple and elegant and easy to remember.  It's an awesome name which will make your project or company stand out and be remembered.

Your company or product will have enormous credibility with a domain like  Or, for a domain investor, I could see a huge tech company paying 6 or 7 figures one day for this domain.

Great quote - "Based on my observation of the current market, .IO seems to be creeping up in value close to .INFO."

Personally, I'd never build a website around an .info domain. However, I'd gladly build a website around a premium (but only premium) .io domain.

ha, yeah I would definitely rather use a .io domain over a .info. @Zelestial yes, a premium .io domain buys you a lot of street cred with the tech crowd. "" is perfect - maybe I should raise the reserve price :)

Hello friends. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for watching this listing. There are 109 watchers on this listing. According to my stats, only 2 other .io domains have ever had more watchers - and, with 126 and 127 watchers, respectively. We just need 19 more watchers to make this the most ever watched .io domain listing in the history of the universe.

Wouldn't it be perfect if "" was the most watched listing?

"watch" is a great keyword for a .io domain. Nicely brandable, too - "Watch I/O" - doesn't it just sound so cool and respectable?
If it doesn't meet reserve, maybe I will build something awesome on it one day.

Best of luck to everyone in this auction, and with whatever else you do.

@sulabh12 yes, I have been thinking about wearables (e.g. like a wrist watch), but this would be perfect for entertainment related services (e.g. something like hulu or netflix). Thanks for the note!
