Reason for Sale:

I'm selling TopBusinessGifts.com because my family and I have recently started and own a few other businesses. These businesses require 100% of my time and effort so I simply don't have the time to dedicate to this store.   

About the Site:

  • TopBusinessGifts.com is a 100% dropship website. 
  • Nearly all (if not all) of Sales are from Organic Search Traffic
  • Never advertised using Google Adwords and keywords - so opportunity for much higher sales exists here
  • Only advertising to date has been via the site's first Google Product Listing Ads that I uploaded around November 17, 2012 to test it out.
  • Once an order is received, a purchase order is created and then emailed to the supplier. 
  • I spend approximately 30 minutes or less per day processing orders and/or responding to customer inquiries
  • I have multiple suppliers for this site so there is not just one dropship company
  • Spent more time in past months entering product data and uploading to site
  • Returns have never been an issue (never had to process one)

Opportunities:

  • There are hundreds of other high dollar value products that have yet to be loaded onto the site

Important Notes:

  • The sales data shows sales of $4900 during the month of August 2012. This amount includes a phone order that I entered on the site for $4567.50. I DID NOT include this amount in the financial data and sales figures since the sale did not originate from the website. This was a custom order for a consulting client. So the PDF sales report will look slightly inflated for that month. I have listed out exact sales figures.
  • Purchaser would need to secure a merchant account
  • Site features upgraded design/template and navigation components
  • An older ecommerce store, ScribeTime.com currently points to TopBusinessGifts.com. This store was opened in 2007, but since I wanted to completely revamp it, change most of the products, and rebrand the store with a new domain name - I followed Google's advice and other experts' advice on changing a domain name using a 301 redirect.
  • Most of the products were deleted from ScribeTime.com and the remaining products and pages were redirected to TopBusinessGifts.com back in June 2012. ScribeTime.com is still pointing to TopBusinessGifts.com. But this should no longer be necessary since it's been nearly 6 months.

  • Merchant account and gateway - approximately $50 per month
  • Recently signed up with Mailchimp email service - Free up to 2000 subscribers (there are no subscribers)

  • Again no advertising or product feeds uploaded anywhere
  • Sold more lower margin products during this month

    Average number of sales per month are between 7-9 sales. I have not promoted the site or advertised (with the exception of the Google Product Listing Ads in late November - which I will describe below). The average dollar amount for sales per order can be any amount, but is generally above $100.
    Return percentage: I have not had any returns in the sales period reported.
    Google Product Listing Ads: You can find out more information by Googling something like "Google Product Listing Ads".
    But basically, this is a pay per click method of advertising on Google where the advertiser is charged when a potential buyer clicks on an ad. The ad is shown because the merchant submitted a product feed to Google. Just like with Google Adwords, the advertiser (or store owner) can select how much they want to pay to have products shown in the search results.
    Unfortunately I cannot tell you how much it will cost because each merchant sets their own budget and cost per click with Google. I started with about $25 per week, but it can be as little or high as someone wants and could afford to drive traffic to the site.
