Monetization Methods

  • This website earns revenue with Affiliate Income and Advertising Sales. It is recommended to request a video walk through from the seller to verify all revenue claims.

Seller's Notes is a CPA network directory generating a residual income referring affiliates (subaffiliates/2nd tier affiliate) to networks like MaxBounty.

Here's the site in summary:

  • #1 on for ‘CPA networks’
  • #4 on for ‘CPA Offers’
  • 2010 revenue: $6,345.73
  • Mean traffic: 5,657 visits/mo, 10,359 page views/mo
  • Mailing list: 1,653 subscribers, growing at 100-150/mo
  • Zero upkeep required launched in 2006 as, a webmaster site covering CPA Networks and affiliate marketing. We acquired in 2008 and rebranded in early 2010 as

The site has been recruiting affiliates since 2006. Over the years, we’ve recruited many, many 1,000s of affiliates for CPA networks, affiliate networks & in-house affiliate programs.

We’ve ranked #1-3 on for the keywords ‘CPA networks’ and ‘CPA offers’ for the last couple of years, providing laser-qualified traffic.

Premium Domains

CPA is the definitive brand for a whole sector offering instant credibility in a crowded space short of trust. Indeed, before acquisition, the CPA domain was used by a CPA network.

SEO experts agree that Google loves 'exact match' domains, and competitors complain about the 'unfair advantage' of premium domains. Furthermore, linkbuilding is easier when users choose desirable anchor text by default.

The domain itself is nearly 8 years old. The sale includes, which 301 redirects to the new URL passing link value.

This sale includes these defensive domain registrations:

  • [former URL]
  • [former URL]

The site requires zero upkeep month-to-month.

Reason for Sale

The reason I am selling is because I'm busy with a new e-commerce business; I'm unlikely to have time to work on CPA in the near future to build the kind of site I had in mind, so am now listing it for sale.

I turned down an offer at $14k in March this year.

The site runs on WordPress. Server requirements are modest, and the site will function on budget shared hosting. Licences are required for:

  • Thesis theme at $87.
  • Popup Domination at $47

The top two CopyScape results are holding pages for other domains I own (eg,, which are available for sale by seperate negotiation. The other CopyScape results are thanks to the Thesis theme footer.

Additional Revenue Details

Most revenue from the site comes from referring subaffiliates to CPA networks. The rest comes from referring affiliates to related services (eg, PPC networks). Before I share revenue figures, you should understand two things:

#1. Volatility

Subaffiliate referral revenue can be volatile. If one of your subaffiliates has a big month, you can clean up. But this means that you need to take a long term view of revenue figures (eg, monthly/quarterly figures can be skewed, whereas longer term the stats average out).

For example: peak months in 2010 for MaxBounty referrals were $1300+ & $1400+ last summer. Revenue for 2011 is down on 2010, but if your subaffiliates have a couple of big months that can change fast.

#2. Reporting

Reporting for most subaffiliate referral programs is extremely limited. See the revenue proof attachment from MaxBounty for an example. If you've any questions about this stuff, just ask.

2010 Revenue

Main sources of revenue for 2010:

  • MaxBounty: $4,490.13
  • NeverBlueAds: $1,054.60
  • Full Tilt Poker/PKR: $89.56
  • ClixGalore: $189
  • MarketLeverage: $129.87
  • FluxAds: $116.11
  • CJ: $82.66 [£50.75]
  • BigStockPhoto: $80.16
  • Fotolia: $76.19 [£46.77]
  • 123rf: $21
  • Others: $16.45

2010 TOTAL: $6,345.73

2011 Revenue

Main sources of revenue for Jan-July 2011:

  • MaxBounty: $2041.62
  • CJ: $120.65[£74.04 @ today's exchange rate c/o]
  • MarketLeverage: $76.60
  • FluxAds: $59.45
  • ClixGalore: $15

2011 TOTAL: $2,313.32

Key Opportunities

There are two key opportunities for a future owner:

#1. Selling ad space

I receive approaches every month to buy 'Top 3' slots on the homepage/'Top CPA Networks' page. I'd be happy to include old leads as part of this deal.

#2. Listings fees

Again, every month I receive emails from new CPA networks keen to be featured; a new owner would be in a great position to charge anannual listing fee for new network submissions.

A business model based around either/both would be a less volatile alternative to 2nd tier subaffiliate referrals. Indeed, if the site doesn't receive a good enough offer to sell this will be my plan.

Additional Traffic Details

Traffic stats are for the last six months:
  • 5,657 visits/mo (6 month average)
  • 10,359 page views/mo (6 month average)

Main sources of traffic are:

  • Google (70%)
  • Direct Navigation (16%)
  • Other (14%)

Mailing List

The mailing list has 1,653 double opt-in subscribers, managed using Aweber. Signups have averaged 105-151 per month in 2011 so far.

Assume you're referring to Peerfly banners - they are on an affiliate deal & have just gone live this week. No stats yet.

Thanks for all the bids & PMs so far. To answer the two questions that always come up:
#1. No, I don't have a BIN, I want to see what the site reaches at auction. Of course, I reserve the right to end the auction early if I receive an offer I can't refuse.
#2. Yes, I do have a reserve but I won't be sharing it.

He said he had an offer of 14K this year that he turned down so I would say he wants more than that.
