Seller's Notes

I bought this site back in December - when I got it I made some improvements and got it from £20 earnings per month in AdSense to £30 earnings per month.  Then in February I got hit by a Google update and I lost my US rankings (it's a UK specific website).

It's still earning around £9-10 per month.

This sale includes the domain name, the content and the hosting (it's separate to mine and I won't need it - plus it saves us having to do any transfers).

The site is also a PR 3, so I imagine that has some worth to it.

I'm not accepting escrow because I'm in the UK, I did that with my last listing and I ended up getting £200 out of $500 after all the stupid fees!

The reason I am selling is I want to raise cash for a new project. The site is earning £10 quite steadily and in the right hands could probably earn more.

Just an update, back in December / January, this site was doing £30 / $50 per month. It lost it's US rankings and I think I *may* have figured out why. I added it to Google Webmasters Tools and verified it, the previous owner never verified it. It could be that this automatically targeted it to the UK, losing my US rankings. The traffic used to be triple what it was. If you do buy this site I would recommend delete the Google Webmasters Tools verification and you may see traffic/earnings triple. Reserve is $480 - if I don't sell I won't be negotiating, as I'll be doing this. Cheers.

Just uploaded another report, this one is non-paid search traffic for the whole of the period I had the website. The drop in traffic I think is maybe caused by me adding the website to webmasters tools, it automatically geo targets to the UK. I deleted the Webmasters Tools listing the other day and US organic traffic is starting to increase - the traffic has practically doubled (attaching that too).

I'll be paying for the Nominet domain name transfer fee - in case there was any uncertainty over that.

Last seven days is now averaging at £1.07 per day or $1.73 per day - in an average month this would work out around $52 per month. At that rate the site could pay for itself within 12 months if you bought it for $600 by year 2 you would have doubled your money and year three tripled. See attached.

Hi Kim,
As I said, I bought this website in December and I've had good traffic and have been earning money from it - plus if you search for the text on that site Cockatielcare.co.uk comes up top, because its the original.
http://www.google.co.uk/search?rlz=1C1CHMR_enGB338GB338&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=%22Cockatiels+are+some+of+the+easiest+birds+to+get+to+breed+if+you+do+it+right%22
So although the content may be duplicated it is because people have copied cockatielcare.co.uk - and Google knows its the original source, otherwise it wouldn't have any rankings or traffic.
Thanks though, I wasn't aware the site had had some text copied, mainly because I haven't really had any problems with it.
As you can see from all my attachments and comments - I'm not trying to rip anyone off here, I just need the money for something else with my more successful website. Cockatielcare.co.uk has earned money for the past 5 years (I think) for one of my colleagues and I believe it will continue to earn money for the next 5 years as well.
Cheers,
David
